The first prayer ever uttered.

With a slow stride he walked to the place of his rebirth. Under a waterfall, booming into a silent grove he strode into the waters and knelt in the shallows.
He listened for the sound of waters running by and he searched for an inner calm. He found his stillness of mind and he spoke to the waters, pleading them carry his message to the Goddess of Green, the great spirit god.

“Green Goddess, spirit of old. Mother of Serenity, she who brings comfort of a pacifistic stance. Hear my words and know my soul. I come unwarded, open to your gaze. Look upon me and know me as one who has never prayed to the divine. Hear the first prayer I utter and know it to be truth;”
“Eldath. Know me by my name, and name my soul.”
*At those words he let loose the straps of his breastplate and let the metal sink into the waters, revealing his tattooed form, tracing lines across a section of five symbols, carved into his flesh.* “Know my soul, and know my name; Nightingale. I reveal myself to you and come praying for guidance.”
“Mother of Singing Waters, you preach peace, comfort and pacifism in this maddened world. I carry a blaze with me, one to burn planes. I crackle with a pyre of Zeal and Conviction, seeking to change a world which refuses my help. So I come to you, goddess spirit, whom I know as one of this realm, and ask a conflicting task of you. I ask you tell me how to stop the soothing waters from taking over and quenching the fire of my intent. I ask you to speak of your ways before I give in to your serenity and let the world drift by. I ask you for wisdom and I name your reply to reflect stance of all the gods of the realm!”
“I humble myself before you and I let myself be known fully, so you may know what your silence will bring.”

The shaman knelt in the silent waters for long hours, letting waters wash away thoughts of the outside world, in this first prayer he ever uttered, a plea, much unlike the thanks he gave to the gods beforehand. First time he asked instead of thanked, and it broke him to do so.

Two more times the shaman came to the shrine, each time he left an offering; A Broken Sword. He knelt and let stillness come as he surrendered to apathy.
