Hostile NPCs

Unread post by Blackrose »

I don't exactly know what happened so I will two tell about the bug.

I'm UD char, I was passing time killing some bebiliths and died to Guardian Earth Elemental (eeehhh). When I gone to Fugue plane, Myrkul was hostile to me, I needed to wait the server reboot to things go normal again.

(btw, We can't kill Myrkul, he got every immunity same goes to Jergal)

Today I gone again to Bebilith Territory to kill the Earth Elemental (yaaay!), when I came back to Misty Lake, most of the Npcs who I can interact was hostile to me.

I've gone to the commander tent to sell some stuff and he started to spam spells, I didn't kill him, asked a DM about the bug, he asked me to post the topic.

- The NPCs are hostile only to me, other players can interact normally -

btw, I can't believe a commander is so squeeshy, he used bigby and everthing, I was still up uninjuried, {he started the spells before my screen loaded} I should be king of Sshamath.

For the sake of other players as he's a shopper and knowing even a Commander would not dare to attack me, I took it as a bug OOC.

-Picture of what's happening- I think the only thing I used different in this two days was Bigby's Interposal Hand and Crushing Hand. Interposal with extend feat and the Crushing with empowered metamagic feat. That's the only thing different I've done.

Other theory is to unsummon the hand before entering a city, could be it too.

I don't really know what happened, I need some suggestions what could have occouried, but might every npc be loyal to Grumbar and they are lying to everyone of drow society.

Think you hit 1 of your bigby hands with a damage spell.
That turns most if not all npc's hostile from what i seen.

Resurrecting an old post here..

Is there any way of fixing this, save waiting for a reset?

My darn bigby flew into my evard's and now the whole world hates me.

I see it was in the pipeline for fixes last fall, is it unfixable?

This may just have caused a sliiight disruption in a Baldurs Gate event, where all the NPCs (including the bards!) clobbered a poor elven lady to death without her ever learning why.

You know, I have a feeling this would be less problematic if Bigby hadn't made so many hand-related spells.

It isn't just bigby but also the wall spells.

Is this still a thing?

This has been happening since the March 2016 update.

I know right. Which is why I don't even bother using these spells...

Amazing you guys think this is a bug...

You know you attack something or someone that's supposed to help you, backstabbing an ally so to speak and yet you're surprised an angry mob forms

But in all honesty that sounds very annoying...

This should be fixed for UD characters as their second nature is betrayal... Not for surface characters though XD

You can't betray an inanimate object such as a wall.

Walls have feelings.
Spread the word!

Suddenly the sieges of baldurs gate seem more severe.
