Sisters of Mercy Harborside Clinic
In loving memory of Sisters Adelaide van de Saer of Sune
and Adolina of Ilmater
Mission Statement: To provide free of cost for those in the harbor and surrounding areas the following services, including but not limited to: heath and wellness checks, disease and illness treatment, surgery, prenatal and midwife services, nutrition basics, disease prevention skills, and mental health counseling.
Means to Support Clinic: The Sisters of Mercy Harborside Clinic will be funded solely through donations and fundraising. At present, the Darius Company has most graciously offered to sign up as a beneficiary. Fingal Daruis and Rania Arowaven will be providing the beginning costs to purchase the selected building and redesign the interior, should this clinic be approved.
Maintaining the Operation Costs: This will be done with a monthly fundraiser, as well as private donations. Rania Arowaven will be establishing a personal side busines in order to further help with the costs of operation.
Fiscal Accountability: An independent board will be appointed to keep track of all monies donated and spent, and a public record of such will be made available upon request.
Location: Harbor district. A currently standing building will have the interior remodeled, saving both costs and time. Four have been marked as potental locations, but I would like to speak with all those interested in joining this project for their thoughts and suggestions. Of course, the Dukes would have to approve.
Staffing:There will be a wide variety of staffing required, all on a volunteer basis.
Security: To protect both the patients and staff members.
Healers; To aid in treating patients as well as to help produce the tinctures, balms, salves and other medicinal items required to run a clinic.
Maintainance: The people who will be ensuring the building stays in a constant state of good repair.
Construction (temporary): Those who will do the interior reconstruction of the selected building
Carpenters (temporary): Makers of the beds, desks, book cases and all other furniture for the clinc
Fundraisers: These are the idea people who come up with the ways to keep the clinic in the required coin to operate, as well as seek out donations such as supplies.
Counselors: Deal strictly with mental and emotional health cases
Sponsors: These are the generous merchants who provide goods or services at a free or reduced cost to help keep the clinic running.
Liason: This person or persons will be the one handling the offical paperwork and attending meetings with the Dukes and other dignitaries that might be required. A knowledge of political protocal is required.
Architect (temporary): Someone to actually design the interior on paper before the construction can begin.
I'm not sure if it should be warded or not. These are the ideas so far that I've come up with. Please, by all means share yours. I've received a good bit of interest from others in establishing this, and will shortly be getting a survey drafted up to see about the number and types of injuries out in the dock area, to validate the need for this. I'm also volunteering a bit more at the Ilmater clinic with Sister Rachel to get more hands on experience. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
If anyone wishes to sign up for a position or obtain more information, please leave word at the Halls of Inner Light.
