Ah, yes, it's not the first time I read about that. Iron Throne only appearing after the Time of Troubles.

But so is FAI, it only got conquered after the time of troubles too (started playing BG1 enhanced edition again ).

The Friendly Arm Inn was actually built in 1346 (The Year of the Bloodbird) in the canon lore, which is why Broham1 led the siege plot on the old temple of Bhaal (which used to stand where FAI stands now -- it was a grind map with gnolls on it) with Bentley that year (2010).

It could be argued that this was our server's first "metaplot." Although it wasn't the first to be called by that name, and didn't last all year; it was the first time multiple DMs worked very closely together over a large portion of the server for multiple days in a row. Which has since become a staple of metaplot story arcs at their climaxes.

I believe you about 1346. Volo's Guide has already the Friendly Arm in it. And that BG1 would have that wrong, isn't a great surprise.
Ah, found the reference finally in the Revised Forgotten Realms campaign setting for AD&D.

IIRC the first Baldur's Gate area looked different than the one now, at least back in 2009? I usually just left the area as fast as I could. It lagged the hell out of my computer back then.
