Overkill Chest in the CR 10 Titanfist Mines

So, yesterday this chest did 90 negative damage when I opened it. Today, it did 104 divine damage (which is more than my total HP, for the record) with a DC 38. Just... what? Seriously? This is a level 10 grind area.

i was hit with a 300 divine in the old durlags (luckily my sorceress happened to have 320hp :P ) so not sure what to tell you

tho to be fair, a level 10 with a d12 HD would have 120HP minimum

While I feel your pain, I really think rogues don't get the respect they deserve on this server. Traps should surprise you, but yes i agree should be scaled to the area.

What's the formula for traps per cr of the area? And if traps get a critical failure, they do more damage right?
Some people say if you can't do something right, don't do it at all...I say maybe you just need more practice...?

traps are pass or save (and not all are save for half damage)

critical failure only applies to trappers when they fail the DC by more than 5, and then it simply explodes in their face

Deadly traps belong to midlevel or epic areas, not newbie zones... I think.

that 104 divine was probably not deadly, given the one that was probably deadly hit me for 300 on a fail :P

some traps are just way stronger than others, like fire and lightning do way more damage than any acid, cold or sonic

It is strange. All traps in that area should be average, and I have yet to attach holy to any chests in the Upperdark, which is even stranger.

I have recovered a couple Deadly Traps from Kro's, but I haven't found any recently.

All chests in that area are base level 3, which is above average and probably a bit too high for that area. I don't think they start trapped, but when reset they generate a random trap of strength STRONG-DEADLY.

Was killed in the lvl 4 area in the UD from a trap that hit me for 144 electrical dmg.

Sometimes you just gonna die.
