Her mother and father owned a woodcarving and upholstery business used to create custom works for the Nobles of Cormyr.

Purple Dragon Knights
As a small girl, the woman looked up to the Purple Dragons of Cormyr and followed around their commanders, mimicking every step. Her grandfather, Augustine Warwick II, was among these men and took the woman under his wing of leadership. He was a very ‘old school’ type of man, that held fast to his beliefs of honor and duty. As she grew older and more capable, he taught her of Torm and standing against corruption. Augustine did not wish for her to become a Purple Dragon, but to follow her own path. He was the first person to put his faith in Althea’s potential as a Knight and always encouraged her to follow her heart and let duty guide her.
Her mother and father were very loving parents. She adored them, however, a feeling lingered as if something else was waiting for her beyond the city. She spent her summer days as a young woman woodworking with her father. She enjoyed the time spent with, however found it difficult to relate to his perspective. She believed her purpose was to bring justice, honor and faith everywhere she went. Her father and mother were content to live simple lives and wished the same for her. One eve, Althea took a chance and expressed her desire to leave the city and train as a Knight after her grandfather’s encouragement and untimely death. Her father and mother were devastated to potentially lose another family member. In the end they were proud of her regardless.
After a full year of working to cover food, boarding, passage, and extensive planning, the young woman was able to begin her journey to become a Triadic Knight. At the age of 19, Althea boarded a ship headed to begin her studies to become a Triadic Knight.
Westgate and Ilmater:
Her first impression was that Westgate was very similar to her own home, in that it was a city on the sea. That was where she was proven wrong. After a short while the metropolis revealed itself to be vile and full of corruption. There was no law, no order, and no justice. She learned to watch her back and mind her tongue. There was always someone listening. She did her best to aid those effected by the vast malfeasance that plagued the city. Althea learned that kindness can be found in the most unexpected places and that a smile can change someone’s life. She helped treat the wounded and comforted those who would not survive. Caring little for her safety, she often pulled strangers out of dangerous situations and assisted them in any way she could. After a little under a year, and near constant saving from odd jobs, she moved forward to her next training facility.
Tasseldale and Tyr:
She headed north east by boat to arrive in Tasseldale. She was to meet at the Abbey of the Just Hammer to study with the local cleric. It was settled close to the Ashaba River and she found herself fishing to think over her legal studies and the balance of law. She spent her time filing paperwork and listening to proper punishment methods for certain crimes. She aided in legal lessons after a time and enjoyed helping others understand the true meaning of justice and spreading an overall good to the realm. She had many unpleasant encounters with drow raiding parties and was able to help push them back many times. Her heart swelled with sadness as she left many close friends behind to travel to Sundabar.
Sundabar and Torm:
This was her longest stretch of travel and she nearly ran out of coin halfway through the journey. The air grew cold and frigid the further north she traveled. After what was many moons, she arrived in Xammux and arranged for an escort through the Nether Mts. to Sundabar. It was a beautiful and extremely diverse city. The roads were paved and it was a large change from her time in Tasseldale which was very rural. She had not adjusted to the cold temperatures and had a very difficult time shaking off the chill. In Sundabar, she learned of Duty. To her, it was her entire purpose. Every step taken was worth getting to this temple. She learned of Torm and how honesty and loyalty were important above all else. To many, Duty was seen as a burden. To her it was a privilege to be able to stand up against the evil and protect those in need. She adored the teachings of Torm and will be forever grateful for her ability to use her truths to change perspectives and lives along the way. It brought her back to the stories her grandfather had taught her as a young girl. She cherished those memories and eventually headed south to Amn to seek out a Knight to squire under to complete her training.
Goals and Dreams:
She wishes of someday opening or co-opening her own Order of the Triad so that others may aid in her mission of sharing the faith and hope that they bring.
She wishes to change people’s perspective on Paladins, noting that they are not the most liked on the Coast. She wants them to receive the respect they deserve, and remove those who are not worthy or deserving of the title.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas:
Friends or former teachers can visit her in the realm to reflect on teachings.
Direct contact with any of the three Gods of the Triad.
She fought a lot of drow while in Tasseldale. It would be interesting to see what would happen, should family members/friends of the fallen drow seek revenge on Althea.
Goals:
Assisting the now-uncursed man Teris learn to feel normal again.
Training and continuing patrols daily.
