Add Favored Weapon: Heavy Crossbow (or other crossbow)

This would open up several divine crossbowyer options that would increase build variety. And seems in character for some of the crafty/tinkerer deities.

None in Forgotten Realms, there are Mouqol in GreyHawk.

Yes, my suggestion is to add XBow favoring to a crafty deity or perhaps introduce a deity that has it (am not well-versed in PnP).

It doesn't open any new possibilities. FS would just get weapon focus and specialisation in crossbow, and cleric with war domain (provided a god with war domain would favour such a PEASANT weapon) would only get weapon focus crossbow.

None (apart from RP). You are seeing them both. At the moment divine classes are pretty weak choices for crossbow wielders, which tend to be quite feat starved. This would be different with the one or two feats that can be taken via favored weapon.
