Favored Enemy

More of a general question regarding this line of feats for any class that uses them.

Which categories of favored enemy are the most useful and will get you the most mileage throughout the server?

Can't go wrong with Giants and Undead when it comes to the late game. Outsiders can also be a good choice for PVE.

Humans and elves for PVP purposes, though you will get noticably less mileage out of these in the PVE arena.

Undead is good for early game to late game
Giants, Endelyon beat me.
Dragons for Bosses and Druids.
Reptilians if you can for Yuan Ti
Humans They're everywhere
Lot of outsiders
Goblins if you want to grind quickly through Gobs and Xvarts.
Orcs pvp, Sharp Teeth grinding
I don't know if you can pick summons but if you can. . . . There's 73 of them in game, maybe more.

Yuan Ti are monstrous humanoid, not reptilian.
Aberrations are a good late game one as well if you want to grind nagas.

For an Elven 30 Ranger, I'd go with (in no specific order) :

Orcs
Undead
Elves
Humans
Dwarves
Outsiders
Giants

Orcs and Outsiders cover both PC and PvE content, Giants and Undead cover good amount of possible hunting areas and are a good RP choice (DM events, Orcs fall in this category too), and Humans, Dwarves and Elves are for PvP purposes - they also make sense from RP perspective (Elves cover Drow).

The PvE must-haves are probably (at least on the surface):
  • Undeads - Lots and lots of mobs and bosses.
  • Giants - Lots and lots of mobs, and at least one boss.
  • Outsiders - Several bosses and quite a few mobs.
  • Dragons - Wyverns and several bosses.
Other than that.
  • Elementals have a fairly high representation on the server.
  • Goblinoids are also quite well represented, especially in low and mid-levels. Bugbears, xvarts and hobgoblins all fall under this category.
  • Monstrous Humanoids are also well represented.
  • Orcs are common enough around on the server, and also likely to be part of DM events.
  • Abberations, such as mindflayers, displacer beasts and beholders, are common in the Underdark, but they also have decent representation on the surface.
  • Human is going to come up in a lot of DM events.
