There shouldnt be any RP XP or fishing XP in these type of games. However, BG is a medium rp server with some social server elements, therefore there are things such as fishing xp and RP xp, which is fine.
Lets not go over board though. There are other, much better games than nwn2 for that.
As far as the OP, its obviously that the RP xp system is being worked on.
uhm... at 1-4 per tick there would have to be ten to twenty times as many ticks to get where it was before the update. the ticks were not 10 times as frequent. maybe twice as frequent but i wasnt keeping track before or now.
There are also much better games to focus the gameplay on grinding
Diablo 3 anyone?
I think there's just to fix some parts of the actual rp system to ensure that it gives some kind of consinstency in exping while rping , so we're not forced to "grind" at all costs , like in the aforementioned game.

Exactly right. It is not a social server, nor a diablo type of server. There is no need to grind like you say, unless you want a level 30 character in 15 days. Its easy to level a character at a pace the server supports, just by rping and adventuring.
While this has always been a medium RP server, it seems to be an RP server nonetheless (as evidenced by DM focus, plots, and RP-centric classes and rules). To say "there shouldn't be RP XP in these types of games" seems either intentionally antagonizing, disingenuous, or misguided.

Yes, thats the reward the team/we get. Why you mention that. you think we should increase it?

I would not say that. For them they can at least say their PC was away on hiatus training somewhere else. For the RP XP it is and very much always has been talking to learn something that really needed Practical application to truly learn. It is the age old question of who would you rather have a bookworm or a person who has done it.....I take the person with practical application in the spot every time over the person who once read about doing it....Hypothetically speaking of course since you know we are talking about something that is OOC in nature anyway in XP.......I mean if we want to look at it from the standpoint of XP being purely OOC in the first place what does it matter how you get it?
I would also say you missed the point that has been said again and again.
THEY ARE AWARE IT IS BROKEN AND ARE FIXING IT!!!
All they were trying to do was bring down the 60-70 XP pops that could happen and they did. I had some myself. To like 50 or so more often....MORE OFTEN. For a more satisfying RP experience of seeing dem 50s roll while talking! Or 34 or 26 or whatever it is for your level!

For a wizard, theory IS practice. Their power improves at the drawing board where they take a spell and redesign it to be less wasteful or more accurate etc. The only thing combat provides a mage is a "testing ground" to see if their developments improved, or to improve their concentration and focus in stressful environments. In terms of raw power, it's the bookworm who wins.
In Eternia Roleplay, there's a number of admins who review RP logs and award XP based on them. The only way to get to high level is to have RP logs proving your magical research, training with sword etc. Whacking monsters doesn't get you far, maybe a bit of a boost to your stats.
You can only learn new abilities, spells with RP points though.

Uhhh.. i dont want to speak for anyone else, but i know i do not have a gun to my head to log into BGtSCC. nor am i just too lazy to DL one of these much better games. I play here because it is the best game that offers to me what i want. i am also an optimist and see a future that improves on this even more. to me. this is my better game. or i wouldnt be here.
you should also know. that this is all of our operant conditioning chambers and if you go messing with the the light and the lever the rat will get upset and very nervous. better make sure you are making the light and lever better suited for the chamber or the rat will ignore. and the rat always wants more food. so that is not what i am saying. just gotta keep the rat thinking the food is worth the frusteration.

That goes without saying... Doesnt this apply for everyone and everything???
We are not forced to be here.
Changes will happen.
Some changes we will like others we wont.
Some new players will come.
Some will leave.
I dont see why people should get any xp for doing the thing they like to do out of the game , And DMing sounds a lot of fun to me personaly so it is its own reward.
But its fine as this is a med rp server and xp gained is all over the place with fishing questing and the few other things we do to gain levels.
Even in epics 5K can be earned in a few hours of grinding (3 1/2 - 5 hours). Anyone who thinks that is what QC, Dev, Media Team or any other staff spends less than 5 hours per month working in whatever capacity they have volunteered for is kidding themselves. It's a small benefit that is provided as a courtesy, but even if it were taken away, many would still do what they do because they love the server. Is it really seen as some major perk or act of favoritism? That seems to be a pretty big stretch...

Just beware not to pull a Baystation 12 Apple Master & Snapshot on BGTSCC. That RP server got literally torched due to the idea of "changes will cause people to leave, but others will come." Ended up losing all its dedicated roleplayers who carried the rounds, got people who were banned from an action server to replace them. Ended up banning those, and had few people remaining. They're slowly reverting the changes, but it's very slow.
Regarding the DM/QC XP, I know that some people used it to store and build up enough XP to kickstart an advanced character. Tfunke is perhaps the most well known example with his Astorio character. Started at level 20 using his dev XP, RPed as a veteran knight. Personally, I just used my DM XP to get through the impossible slog of pre level 25 epics on a rogue.

Some will come, other will leave. Thats a fact whether there are changes or not. What do you want the staff - any staff - to do, whenever someone says "Dont do this otherwise we will leave?"? Dont do anything?
