NWN2DB - Dangerous?

Unread post by Dagesh »

See this thread for reference.

So is this something to be avoided or is it more or less safe?

I'd advice at the very least being wary if people are reporting being infected. I haven't noticed anything myself, but I mainly hang about my own builds.

i think as long as you stay on your own builds you will be alright. do you think it is safe to look at trusted builders ideas?

Collaborating with LuvHandles on an offline standalone character builder. Build sharing will be easily done.

I wonder: are the people reporting infections staying ONLY within their own builds ?
( Or are they also browsing other peoples' builds ? )

Are their own builds marked "Private" , or visible to anyone ?

Reason I am asking is trying to perhaps do a "risk assessment", and make an educated guess if logging into ONLY my own "Private" builds is too risky......

I really miss the site's function to export the build into an Excel file....... that was handy for printing out a hard copy to work with while in-game.

Let's hope this gets sorted out soon, one way or another.

Is it possible to share builds with this?

Even if not, I would looooooooove to see something like this. Thank you.

Yes, probably will use an intermediary for json output, like pastebin.

I was able to make the web site automatically play Justin Beiber songs via the comments window on any build by writing HTML in comments. I'd avoid public builds at the very least as people can redirect you to foreign websites as well.

I have an account there that I never (rarely) use and now I need to consult the rebuild I planned for my evasion character, but I'm afraid to after reading this thread. :(

Have you all been using it without problems? What does this virus do, or is supposed to do, and can it be removed easily with an AV or something like Malwarebytes?
