what about duelward? I can check it out for you tonight.Steve wrote:It needs to be listed on the Forum and the Wiki. Actually, I remember it was ONCE listed, but listed as disabled. I guess we can put it back now.
Any word on the Duelward spell?

From what the spell implies, you cast it, and your PC has an immediate action Counterspelling enabled, for one time use. However, from using it on my Gish, it seems to not provide any counterspelling?mrm3ntalist wrote:what about duelward? It is entirely possible I'm both reading the description and using the spell wrong. So, if that is the case, then help me rewrite the description to be more clear. Cheers.

BTW, Shadow Simulacrum and Etherealness are not on the list of spells one is able to take with the AM Spell-Like Ability (for those that made those suggestions to me in this thread).

Re: Spell-Like Abiliites for a Sorcerer-Blaster
Does anyone know, off the top of their head, if a SLA costs a spell slot (like all other HIgh Arcana?
Would it then be a sacrificed slot on the same Level as the Spell you choose? Thus, if you choose an SLA for a Level 9 spell, you sacrifice 1 use for 2 uses (thus granting an extra casting, of sorts). And lower level spells chosen give more uses for a single sacrifice, natch.
This detail and/or wording is missing from the Wiki and Forum, so I'd like to update it.

I've asked that question once too and I was told that that is exactly what happens.Steve wrote:Does anyone know, off the top of their head, if a SLA costs a spell slot (like all other HIgh Arcana?

Cheers, Sokolsky.
I updated the Wiki and will also do so for the Forum.

But three extra uses of Isaac's Greater Missile Storm. How could you pass that up?Tsidkenu wrote:Why does a sorcerer need more IGMS though? A sorcerer blaster build should have ASoC, meaning they can already cast IGMS at levels 6, 7 (empowered), 8 (maximised), 9 (quickened). They don't need IGMS as SLA![]()
You want your SLAs to be spells you can't get as a sorcerer, but would like to use regularly.
