Summon bug
Just downloaded a 400 mb update. Since logging in my druid spell Summon creature V now has new options but it seems most of them summon a Dire Bear.
Examples :
Giant Snake
Giant Boar
Giant Lion
All spirits under this spell summon Dire Bear as well.
I did not test the lower tier summon spells.
This is on a druid with SF / GSF Conjuration.

Re: Summon bug
In addition it seems roughly 1/4 of the time no creature spawns. When the creature does spawn it sometimes acts as if it does not have AI. Additionally I have met two players a druid and a priest who are having the same issues as I am.

Re: Summon bug
I have a cleric using Summon Creature V with some regularity and I have not noticed these issues. I will do some more testing today.

Re: Summon bug
I think these bugs were fixed during the update process.

Re: Summon bug
Sent you a PM about it, Nachti. For everyone else: you must turn on the Radial Menu for your spell options instead of specifying a creature as that sub-system of conjuration is currently broken and will cause you to summon the default NWN2 creature for the spell level.
Follow these instructions if you do not know how to do that:
1. Right Click your Character and select Character Details

2. Select Magic Related Options

3. Select Spell Effect Options

4. Select the Spell Tier you wish to modify.

5. Select the Spell you wish to Modify. Some tiers have multiple spells (eg. Summon Creature V & Lesser Planar Binding for 5th tier)

6. Select Show Options Radial when cast.

7. Save settings & exit.
8. Profit!

Re: Summon bug
I followed your instructions, and this added a line of elemental summons I did not have before. I will play around with them, thanks much!.
The issue with the other summons still persists kind of. Before the update I downloaded on Saturday I could summon a snake similar to what you find in low CRE area's near the Chionthar. Now it summons one that looks like the models used in the serpent hills temple but it does not attack / has no AI.
Sometimes when I cast Summon wolf / boar I get a dire bear model and many times I just get nothing, no monster is spawned.
Prior to the update my summon menu consisted of animals only and not spirits. Another thing that is different is the speed of my summons, no matter what tier spells I use "summon creature 1 thru 6 when a creature does spawn the speed of it is much slower than what it was before the update.

Don't use the celestial, giant, dire or fiendish versions of Crocodile or Snake until further notice. They're currently a waste of a summon slot and do next to nothing for you
I'm not certain why your other summons might be stuffing up; Nachti can deal with that one.

Re: Summon bug
I had one issue since the recent update, but it may be based on gaining a level since last I cast the spell.
The Summon Shadows spell dropped the effectiveness of the summons by around half. I had assumed the improvements to the summons were due to my Conjuration spell focuses as the spell description implies.
Are these meant to be level 6 regardless of spell focuses or was this a bug fix/spell change?

Re: Summon bug
Conjure shadows was bugged. Theres no way that I allow 3x Level 30 Rogues to be summoned.
They are 6 HD and increase by +1/+1/+2 for every spellfocus (and +1 for red wiz conjuration).

Re: Summon bug
Thankyou for the clarification. I didn't realise they were scaling directly with levels. Any chance of swapping their spot/lvl with shadow pack? The dogs AI seems extremely unweildly.

Re: Summon bug
I think the meaning is since the update not only are the summon spells not working correctly, the AI of the summons is extremely slow to react.Nachti wrote:What you mean?

More than usual.
And dog companion ... well let's just say my Planar Ally does knockdown more. Dog just... attacks, nothing more, and maybe knockdown once every 10 hours (exaggeration, but its about the perception).
If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.

Re: Summon bug
Shadow pack summons the Shadow Mastiff, which stands around for a few rounds, then casts greater invisibility, then stands around a little more. Upon entering into combat all of the Shadow mastiffs have difficulty getting into combat due to model size and pathing. Occasionally they will even enter stealth mode while invisible as well, adding to the delay into actually attacking.
As this is a short duration spell the whole Shadow Pack may only get one or two attacks in an entire combat. The Conjure Shadows spell does not have as many delays or issues with entering combat with targets.
