If your Favoured Soul is an actual priest within the clergy of that Deity, he would most likely be expected to behave within the dogma. Even if his granted powers aren't depending on it, his position within the church certainly is.Calantyr wrote:I was under the impression that Favoured Souls didn't need to justify their actions at all, they just got their powers regardless. Re: Priests on a long leash
Favoured Souls are kind of guided to act within their god's dogma. Indeed, the Favoured Soul RP should be seen as equally (if not more) strict than the cleric RP.Calantyr wrote:I was under the impression that Favoured Souls didn't need to justify their actions at all, they just got their powers regardless. Favoured Souls are not priests, however. They are not ordained like clerics or druids are.

Afaik priest != cleric. Most clerics are ordained priests, but not all. A FS can be a priest just as a commoner can be a priest.

It depends on the god and the church. There are rangers who are priests, or mages too... Saying that Favoured Souls cannot be priests therefore is wrong.
