Invisibility spells and the like.
Should a Invisibility not break after you cast a spell?
Atm you can cast invisibility greater invisibility or greater sanc and buff to high heavens though i think the spells say that you wil become visible when you cast a spell.

If you have see invisibility, it won't break lock. Also, yeah. . .once they go invisibility (and you can't see them) or sanctuary/ethereal, you won't be able to attack them. That is how those spells work.

The way invisibility is described it says you break the spell when you cast a spell...That doesnt only meen hostile spells.

Re: Invisibility spells and the like.
The spell could be changed to its PnP language, if that is giving trouble (aka, it breaks upon hostile action, just like any other like effect in nwn2. When analyzing what a spell should do, it helps to analyze consistency.).

The NWN2 spell description is probably just poorly worded.Tantive wrote:The pnp language for invisibility

Re: Invisibility spells and the like.
Invisibility should break when ever you cast buffs not next to a party member =P becuase someone casting a buff is darn right hostile to some players.
mentioning invisibility.
Can we get the Move Silent checks on it please.... its so being abused its the worse kind of metagaming currently. If you want to be invisible and not heard, invest points and move at half speed like everyone else!

(Exactly who is a foe depends on the invisible character’s perceptions.) Actions directed at unattended objects do not break the spell. Causing harm indirectly is not an attack.

Valefort wrote:While the listen checks for invisible people are possible to do and sensible I'm not overly keen on this as there are several shortcomings :
1. It will have to be done through a moving AoE, which is not the most reliable thing.
2. The succesful listeners will only get a text feedback, the invisible person will not appear black as when you detect someone through listen. You won't even know exactly where they are and you'll have no way to target them.
3. Monsters don't react upon text feedback ! And I don't really want to imagine the work needed to script a sensible reaction for every monster that hears you but doesn't see you.
Of course the player to player interaction would still be more sensible.
