Actually, some grandfathered items were nerfed down, if not outright removed. There were even scripts in place to take some of those away.
Most notable examples were items with magic damage resistance, because on the early days of the server IGM spam by evil sorcerers was a real every day thing, and Paladins needed the magic/10 damage resistance on some rings, etc... And once they got some, others wanted few of those too, which made some of the older arcanist players rather upset about it too, so those rings and amulets had to go...
Oh and can anyone remember the stats of the 'OLD' Gaharu? Ye gods... at the time it was a weapon designed to club gods dead.

It might still be today...
