Dreadmaster build
I can't seem to find anything related to this class, save for three or four forum posts. I'm not sure what it's actually good for, but the concept of being an evil cleric of Bane with a cohort is awesome. I'd like to take it on an evil character, but I don't know where to even begin making a build for it. Can I get some ideas to help? I'm very new to build making and have mostly just leached off of ones I've found, but since there aren't any, I'm going to give this a shot and make one. With 100% RCR being gone though, I'd like to try and do it right the first time.

Re: Dreadmaster build
It's difficult to mess a cleric don't worry
Dreadmasters are clerics that are very good at making things afraid plus they have that wicked cohort at the end, there's not much more to say there so .. if you want to build on its strengths you have to focus on both summons/cohorts/domination and your fear spells.
A good way to play it to rely on summons/cohorts to take care of most of the monsters while you are sitting behind casting Fear, slay living, Destruction or Harm spells on the ones that are not being killed by your minions. You can also always cast divine power, take your morning star and bash some heads but I think that shouldn't be necessary.
Here's my take on it :
http://nwn2db.com/build/?275462
1. Dominate a monster.
2. Summon an extended greater undead (or something else as you see fit !).
3. Summon your cohort.
4. Buff everyone, mass Bull, mass Bear, all AC spells, bless, aid, GMW when applicable.
5. Seek and Destroy.

Re: Dreadmaster build
Thank you Valefort! That's what I was looking for, what the class was about and how to use it. So a minion buffing, fear inducing cleric. I like it. Thanks a lot! I'm going to plan out the skills needed for the classes and then take that build for a shot!

Re: Dreadmaster build
Note that DreadMaster also advances Blackguard spell casting so can make for a formidable EDM Fighter build with some minor spell casting, fear effect and a decent summon. As to Cleric Divine Power makes BAB irrelevant so you can still build a melee cleric with DreadMaster...You just aren't taking full advantage of the 3/day fear effect, wand crafting and -4 saves vs. fear if you do. Finally a Cleric/DreadMaster/Heirophant/BG would be really strong with the -2 saves aura of BG and the -4 vs. fear aura, which I assume stacks. With Bane's Tyranny Domain it could make for a devastating caster and still hit CL32. Not to say Valefort's build with Thaumaturge isn't great, it is. It's more to say that isn't the only way to play it. An ESF: Enchantment build is kind of a 'one trick pony' with the Cleric spell list, but DC's within the Blackguard and DreadMaster Aura will be very strong.

Re: Dreadmaster build
Oh wow, a blackguard/dreadmaster "fear knight" style build sounds really cool. What level progression would you recommend for that? Like, Cleric 6/Dreadmaster 10/etc.
Edit: Nevermind. After thinking on it today, I definitely am going with Valefort's suggestion, and focus on summoning. Sounds fun having three summons to kill things for me!

Re: Dreadmaster build
The only difference between the Blackguard build and Valefort's build is you are taking 3 levels of BG instead of 5 levels of Hierophant. So basically C7/DM10/H10/BG3. You lose out on the Planar Cohort summoning benefits of Thaumaturge in favor of better spell DC's for cleric. You just have to be sure you select Cleric spell casting progression (not Blackguard) when you take DreadMaster at level 1 and it requires the Practiced Spellcaster feat to reach 32 CL. You will have fun with Valeforts build. Thaumaturge summons are quite enjoyable.

Re: Dreadmaster build
Valeforts build can actually get up to 6 summons out. Dominate. Summon. Cohort. Desecrate + Animate Dead for another 1-3 tanky skeletons/zombies.
Its very important to cast Desecrate first as it will signifanctly empower the Animate Dead spell. Use your 7th level spell slots for Mass Bulls/Bears for your horde and away you go

Re: Dreadmaster build
For Valeforts summoning build, I'd want to choose Law and Tyranny for the domains like is listed right? I've never played clerics before so I don't know what all the different domains do.
Also, six buffed summons of evil carnage sounds so awesome. I can't wait. Thank you everyone for the help you've provided! Love this community.
