Agree with Rinzler in that Wizard make a better DC Caster, but Sorc can be DC focused as well. In fact they can be quite good DC Sorcs!

Let's look at a DC Sorc like Sun Wukongs.

You need 6 feats for the 3 PRC's (Skill Focus: Spellcraft, Spell Focus: Illusion, Spell Focus: Necromancy, True Believer, Metamagic Feat, Toughness) Level 18 Feat can't be used since you will then fail to meet 3b20, thus Human is actually the best race. Since CHA will start at 18, but you can take Prodigy at level 1, Aasimar gets 20 CHA, but can't take Prodigy. So we're human, we have the above 6 feats plus Prodigy leaving us with 1 more at 18 which will be Greater SF, Necromancy.

Assuming 18 starting CHA + 7 from level up's + 5 from epic feats = 30 CHA, 34 after Eagle's Splendor. You also have prodigy which makes your CHA act like it is 2 points higher (36).

Caster Level = 29 + 3 (AM) + 3 (SA) + 3 (BM) = 35 (so +5 Epic CL bonus DCs for Necromancy, Enchantment and Illusion Spells).

You will have Spell Focus in two of the 3 SA based schools to qualify for Archmage (in our example, illusion and necromancy), you will also have GSF: Necromancy.

So, your spell DCs look like this:

Necromancy: 10 + 12 (CHA) + 1 (Prodigy) + 5 (CL35) + 2 (GSF) + 2 (SA) = 32 + Spell Level, DC 41 Wail of the Banshee.

Illusion: 10 + 12 + 1 + 5 + 1 (SF) + 2 = 31 + Spell Level

Enchantment: 10 + 12 + 1 + 5 + 2 = 30 + Spell Level

I would say this is a pretty strong DC Sorcerer.

Taking away Shadow Adept does make it quite a bit less interesting, since you lose 3 CL (down to 32) as well as the blanket +2 DCs on Enchantment, Illusion and Necromancy. However, I would argue you could go Sorcerer 11/AM10/BM6/BG3 for CL35 and -2 saves aura from Blackguard that accomplishes the same final DC as Shadow Adept, but doesn't have the limitation of only applying to 3 schools and making your Bigby and Flesh to Stone/Disintegration spells worse. So it is not a case where you MUST go Shadow Adept...Though note the Blackguard requirements mean you won't have any metamagic feats (true believer and metamagic switched out for Power Attack and Cleave).
