I wanted a non-magical, highly skilled yet adventure-capable swordsman character. He'll primarily single wield a longsword, but throw the shield on if needed for the bonus AC. More elegant than brutish when it comes to the fighting side of things (hence the dervish).
The build isn't optimized, but here's where I'm at so far:

It's good, I'd replace the 5th level of bodyguard with a rogue level, giving you uncanny dodge and some more skill points. Improved critical or Blind fight can be dropped fro IPA as well.

In a way you could go for a Fighter 14/Dervish 10/Bodyguard 3/Rogue 3 for one extra fighter bonus feat. Or perhaps Fighter 12/Dervish 10/Bodyguard 4/Rogue 4 because it gives you better reflex saves.
Anyhow, disable device needs skill investment in search, so you should max out that skill. Moroever, in the orc forest you can find a elven blacksmith that sells some elf only longswords and in that same store you can buy a +3 Mithral Chainmail and +4 Dexterity bracers. So get at least 13 points in Use Mage Device. More would be better as that lets you use all the scrolls you manage to find from loot. Scrolls of Harm, Heal, Storm Avatar, etc...
Other than that, you should be solid, even though part of me feels that low dexterity can be troublesome to start out with. (The Iron Chainshirt + Potion of Cat's Grace is doable option, at least until you can afford the +4 Dexterity Bracer and the Melodic Chainmail.)
As for dropping feats for Improved Power Attack, I would drop Improved Critical. It will not stack with wands of keen, and you can buy a 'wand of keen' for about 7k from the basement of the Blushing Mermaid Inn.

Re: Tymoran Sellsword Build Concept
I should add I already have +3 mithral chain from before it became good
I am planning to save up for the +4 dex bracers. That's why the lower dex score. Skill points aren't filled in, but lock, device and umd are all high priority
