With all that positive PR for the loot system I'm almost reluctant to tell that nothing has been changed since this discussion started. You just had some good luck for a change.

I was wonder if you could do something that the server remember how many time you have loot a chest so you can move on to the epic area, you told about we have to loot over 50 loot spot like a quota, before it will count and so when the server crash we about to start as 0 again that cant be fair if we have a lots a crash

Re: Suggestion: Remove all +1/+2 items from the Loot Tables
I am not sure I'm understanding you Lock... The server remembers the last time you opened a given loot container and if you try to open it again within 6 hours a message will pop up letting you know you can't loot the chest for <x> number of minutes. There is no quota on how many chests you need to loot and the counters carry over between resets, thus if you loot an area right before reset, you cannot loot the same area after the reset. The only reason anyone brings up 50 or <insert random number here> chests is because they are saying the chances of a decent drop, much less epic drop are so low that you need to open a lot of loot containers to give a better chance for a lucky 'roll' of the dice to give you something worthy of Mudd's or the Auction forums. 99%+ of what you find is likely going to be vendor trash so you are really just looking for that one chest that opens to give you that 1% loot drop that is somewhere between Mudd worthy and Epic.Lockonnow wrote:I was wonder if you could do something that the server remember how many time you have loot a chest so you can move on to the epic area, you told about we have to loot over 50 loot spot like a quota, before it will count and so when the server crash we about to start as 0 again that cant be fair if we have a lots a crash
I hope that answered your question, but if not could you just clarify what you are asking?

Re: Suggestion: Remove all +1/+2 items from the Loot Tables
There is nothing in the loot table or the RIG that increases your chances at finding something good after you open 50 chests (or any number of chests). The only thing that increases your chance is the simple fact that each chest you open is another opportunity to get a lucky drop, so the more loot containers you open, the more opportunities you have for something good. However, there is no code that rewards players for opening many chests and, should anything be implemented in the future my guess would be that after <x> chests the rewards go DOWN, not up. While the server supports loot grinding it does not mean that this type of behavior is what we want to encourage, since it detracts from grouping up, taking it slow and enjoying some RP with your adventure.

Chaos can still almost kill your toon, even if that toon is lvl 25.
So it's surprising that your reward for surviving a near death is:

Should have named this thread "Remove all -1/-2 items from Loot tables. lol.

Replace them with -10/-20 items, right? Good idea.Steve wrote:Chaos can still almost kill your toon, even if that toon is lvl 25.

Re: Suggestion: Remove all +1/+2 items from the Loot Tables
What I really like about this idea is how it alleviates some of the allure of creating an alt character that specializes in meta-looting the server. If my dex based rogue-ish mains could acquire gold at a better pace, I wouldn't need to have this essentially OOC loot master which then fuels the financial needs of all my other characters.
Perhaps we could have it both ways if one of the widgets we carry around could simply turn unwanted items into their default gold price (based on your appraise skill hopefully) or 1,400 gold, whichever is lower. A pocket merchant so to speak. Is it completely OOC? Sure, but so is running circles and opening the same chest every 6 hours, then mulling things over to other characters.
is it fair that a low str character can loot at a similar pace as a high str character? Not really. But neither is it fair that the fastest looters don't even bother with disarming traps and and opening locks. If a rogue isn't needed for their unique skills, why then should a muscle bound mule be needed for their carrying capacity?

A pocket genie merchant (purchasable investment 20k gold) would be Lore appropriate, game mechanics appropriate, and cater to all play styles. Those that want to farm the loot and take back to camp, as well as those that want to melt the loot to gold.

A pocket merchant widget would be nice to have - however it should offer the lowest (max.) gold from all merchants here, as you don't have to bother walking to a real merchant.
Maybe 500 max. - would still be useful overall.

Re: Suggestion: Remove all +1/+2 items from the Loot Tables
The issue I have with a 'pocket genie' is you are going to find plenty of plain full plates, banded mails, copper rings, plain rings, plain weapons etc. that would usually be left behind and now are sold to your pocket merchant, thus increasing the gold coming in to the server. Whether the 'max' is 500 or 100 it is till making it so current items left behind now equal up to 100 gold extra which would add up to 1,000's of more gold daily for the expert looters out there. Every item you would usually leave behind so as not to clog your inventory is now giving you gold, 5 here, 11 there, etc. etc. in addition to 500 gp for every full plate you would otherwise leave behind... Heck, I generally leave any FP not worthy of Mudd's behind unless I have a mid 20's in STR because it isn't worth it to lug around, especially since storage was disabled and there is rarely any space available for armors on Mudd's Auction. Which gives me an idea...New topic forthcoming.
