[parchment]My tale, is but a short one my friend. As such, I'll be brief and to the point
The truth is, despite my heritage I grew up upon the Coast, just as many of your kins-men have. Though my raising was of course quite different along side my brother's. We were sheltered, and lived relatively reclusive lives.
This was merely a necessity of course, and our mother worked very tirelessly to make sure we were happy. Though I was not the kind of bird to be locked in a cage forever. As I grew older I questioned whom I was, what I was. When I had found out, it was a time of strife no doubt.
To learn my father was a monster, no less a slaver- had been something painful. Upon giving birth to myself and my twin brother, she had found chance to escape. Her heart more pure than most, to take two babes forced upon her. Though painful as it was, it opened my eyes to the chance that there may be others like me. I dwelled on such an idea for a long time before becoming a man.

[parchment]Then, once I became of age, I set out with nothing but a dagger on my hip, and a rather large cloak to cover my face. I have always been a man of curiosity, and back then it was more like a passionate fire that ired me forward.
I had spent some years wandering the coast, searching for the other half of my blood. Although I never considered my mother a liar, I never thought her telling of all my kin to be evil to be true.
If only she was wrong, because they are all that and more.
When I had reached the Underdark city, I had begun to learn of its culture, its caste, and their hatred for those of mixed heritage. Though unlike those of the surface, I wasn't chased by a torch and knife, instead their hatred was vocal, though they let their intentions be known at least.
In truth, their environment opened a monster inside myself, my years spent there slowly turned my heart black with rage and distrust. I became more Drow, than man for sometime. They were dark days, chasing foes in those dark caverns. I had found myself hired to do a great many tasks that I am not proud of, but I had enjoyed even the vilest of them.[/parchment]

[parchment]Those years are best left in my past, unspoken of in detail. Though let it be known, I've had great regrets now that I've found my faith.
It took a very harsh reality to finally become the man I was meant to be. It was when I had lived these two lives individually, as a Drow, and as a Man- that I had realized my purpose lay in between.
It was then I found myself wandering between the two realms of both my kins-men, despite their mutual hatred of me. I had discovered Shaundakul, The One True Guide, whom set my heart free, and my mind at ease.
Now I merely serve to protect and guide those whom wish to visit one another. Perhaps one day, my dark cousins will find their own light. Maybe then those cursed with but a drop of their blood will find acceptance. Shamefully, such will never be in my life-time.
