Just had an occurence where my mage entered FAI to find all NPCS (except horses?) were set to Hostile. Had some other players around her, they reported no hostile setting for the guards.
Thankfully they were set to "I'm angry with you, but not going to do anything about it" mode.
RPed it out, screamed about taking her gold elsewhere.
Went to Candlekeep and found a similar rude unwelcome atmosphere. The guards were hostile there too.
Relogging into the server has not corrected it.
Thankfully server reset just happened and has fixed the issue.

I remember one of my guildies having a similar problem, and it was related to some spell that the PC used.

Typically means you've hit your Bigby or wall spell with an AoE. This is an old bug. A server reset fixes it.
