Tiefling battle thaumaturge

I'm interested in a battle thaumaturge build.

Basically, someone who can fight on their own, but calls fie.. I mean friends to support them.

"Wishlist":

• Evil algined
• High dex or ranged build is preferred(Basically, "full plate and shield" seems to be less tieflengly than someone in a light armor)
• Arcane casters are preferred (sadly, no warlock progression for thaumaturges, so...), but divine casters are fine, if the build is cool.
• HiPS is not necessary, but I'd consider hips builds too.

What are the options?

At the moment I can only think of something like Rogue/Wizard/EldritchKnight/Thaumaturge.

Any other ideas?

This is a nice idea, because swashbuckler gets diplomacy skill, beenfits from high int, etc.
However, tieflings have rogue as favored class, so there is going to be a multiclassing penalty.

What are other options? Also... is there a way to make it ranged?

How about cleric 7/DFD10/A8/T5? Or if you want more CL change assassin 8 to rogue 3 (CL24 for assassin build with hips, CL29 for rogue 3/ cleric 12).

Darkfire disciple? Could work as well. For the stabbier variation of a cleric.

Alternate wizard and swashbuckler for the first 10 levels, then you save the last 5 wizard levels for 26-30. At least then you will have no XP penalty until level 27.

Hard to get damage anywhere for ranged by going int and dex. I can't really think of anything that would work.

When you're basically limited to wizard5/ek10/thaumaturge5 or cleric15/thaumaturge5, leaving 10 levels for something else, you don't have a whole lot of places to get damage to ranged from.

Hm, maybe. Fighter4/wizard11/ek10/thaum5 for that ranged weapon mastery. Again, put wizard 6 wizard levels at the very end and you'll get XP penalty from level 25 and on. Get 16 int (and +3 item), then just pump dex as high as you can.

Wizard10/ek10/thaum5/elemental archer5 might also work, but will have slightly less AB and damage. Avoids XP penalty though.

Crossbow Sniper?

I'm not sure about it. Crossbow sniper is very feat intensive.

Full ist of feats you'd ideally want goes like this:

Crossbow Sniper, Crossbow Sniper Master, Weapon Focus, Rapid Reload, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Multi Shot, Improved Rapid Shot, Improved Critical , Weapon Mastery Ranged, Weapon Supremadcy, Weapon Specialization, Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Epic Weapon Focus, Epic Weapon Specialization.

In the end results are "Meh". Although at early levels it can be incredibly easy.

don't see any other way to get damage going ranged... unless you go assassin.

10 Hierophant (could be replaced for dragon slayer)
9 Hospitaler
6 cleric

You can pretty much build it how you like ranging from a pure DC caster with DC 37 on storm to dex builder with a bow/full out strength build with summons.

It is a fullplate build, but you do make most out of high Intelligence and at least and have that caster level of 30. You can just switch the race to Tiefling and you are solid.

Getting proficiency for EK via PRC is a good idea. I think I might try something similar, probably with lower CL and different class set.

It won't. XP penalty only happens when you mix base classes incorrectly, prestige classes do not trigger it..
