Re: Why do people still use fames name from, books or movies
Like with everything else, just PM the DMs about the name and the account. They can go from there.
I had a character named Jackson Hawke. Someone reported me (years ago). The claim was I was imitating the band called Jackson Hawke. My response was "who is Jackson Hawke?" They are a band, and not of a music genre I gravitate towards and when I listened to them, just wasn't my thing.
I convinced the DMs and all was well.
Some people may not realize what they are doing. Others probably do it on purpose. I see a lot of names that I just shake my head when I read them.

If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.

The real player names I met:
Disin Tegrate
Gitstompa
Vick Tortsoy
He Man (the guy looking like prince Adam)
Amon Ferro (the warlock with the head of Amon Jerro)
King Joffrey (the guy looking familiar to GoT character)
To be honest I think it is fun and not even worth reporting (I died when He Man asked me "What's going on?").
There are tonns of things ruining the immersion (like OOC trashtalks, speechless grinders, angry pvp mongers killing you without even toggling hostile etc). The funny naming is not one of them.

Re: Why do people still use fames name from, books or movies
Lol i have no intention of making a paladin or an Arthur... the joke was the proposed name and class in regard to the topic itself.

Re: Why do people still use fames name from, books or movies
Naming a PC "King Arthur" or "Arthur Pendragon" = against the rules.
Naming a PC "Arthur Smith" = perfectly fine.
The name "Arthur" in and of itself isn't unique enough to be considered a violation.
