One Hander + Northern hewing
In JEGS these two feats are not able to be activated together. Can they be used together in game?

In general, one can only use Vanilla combat mode fears in conjunction with BGTSCC custom combat feats. So CE or IPA or Flurry + One hand or Northlander or Athkatkan Triparate or etc.

But consider the EXTREMELY good dmg an IPA + Northlander Hewing 2-handed build can do! Throw in Fighter Epic Specialization damage and a d12 weapon and whoa!

Re: One Hander + Northern hewing
Or a STR based monk/ fighter combo with quarter staff, greater flurry, one hander and northlander Hewing. F12/M11/WM7 might be pretty sweet damage wise, though AC will likely be petty bad. 9 APR thanks to bugged extra attack becomes 6 or 7 (forget if it rounds up or down). Staff damage improved helps as well.
Edit scratch that... forgot crits are bad with nh. Maybe switch out weapon master for more fighter or monk levels. Not sure if any other classes would improve it.

Re: One Hander + Northern hewing
I played that exact build as a gray orc, to level 30, Chad. The AC is horrible, against most epic content, even with top notch gear. I'd suggest taking IPA and Athkatlan Triparate, for +5 AC and +5 dmg.
But, if you wanted NH and dropped WM, Fighter 12/ Monk 18 unarmed is pretty good!

Re: One Hander + Northern hewing
You wouldn't really need to go max STR with NH though... If it were me I would go something like a Gret Orc OR Wood Elf F12/M12/DC6. Maybe I am missing something, but with a Grey Orc I come up with 42 AC, 48 if using IMA/Shield Wand so that's 46 with Northlander Hewing. Not amazing, but certainly survivable in most area's. With Flurry and NH active it would be a pretty great damage dealer as well. Wood Elf would simply reverse the starting DEX and WIS scores, but would still end with the same STR and AC.
In the end, IPA is likely better since either way you'll end up with 6 APR. I suppose you have fewer attacks that hit with IPA since the NH would be MAX/MAX/MAX/-5/-10/-15 with -20, -25 and bugged extra attack lost. IPA would be MAX/-5/-10/-15/-20/-25. So I would say there is at least discussion as to if you would go NH vs. IPA on a STR monk.
half done build just for comparison cuz it helped me figure out.

dont think you can PA/IPA and flurry with a monk at the same time.

Correct, that's why I said it's 6 APR either way... With IPA you can't flurry, with NH you can, but then you lose 1/3rd of your attacks. So Gr. Flurry is 9 APR down to 6.aaron22 wrote:dont think you can PA/IPA and flurry with a monk at the same time.

Re: One Hander + Northern hewing
Have currently got a level 12 str based monk quarterstaffer (6 monk/6 fighter) who does have Northlander Hewing. At this stage of the game, I do click it on every now and again for funsies, but at only 4 apr, turning it on almost assuredly costs me damage. Giving up half my attacks plus my crit damage makes for a sad half orc. At six attacks, I'll have to report back. Might feel like a better deal then.
