Archer AB question

I play a non-hipsing/non-casting wisdom-based archer (mo/fi/ea) and he will reach a max. ranged AB of 48 (44+4).
Now i wonder - if that is enough to hit anything at all later in epic areas or will he be useless most of the time. ???

What about using manyshot with such a 'low' AB ?

That leaves you with(assumed you have imp.RapidShot):

40/35/30 for the first three Attacks with Manyshot(-8AB),

33/28/23 for the following non-ManyShot Attacks,

48 with your last attack from Imp.RapidShot.

Seems pretty good, you can even drink a potion of G.Heroism for +4AB.

how is your defense on that build? do you have a meat shield at all?

No defense other than monk speed and an occasional ki-step. Maybe ki-dodge would have been a better choice here.

you need to hit hard and often then. monk speed should help, but only so much. you have UMD for mirrors, IMA etc? also need to pay attention to the DRs of the higher level mobs. they will have stacking DR that you will need to bypass one or two with +arrows or CI/silver etc. i like my AB over 50 on archer to really pump damage. a glass cannon can survive on this server, gotta make sure you are not a glass rifle. that wont make it.

By the Gods, I tried an archer the other day, and experienced the new/existing Range penalties, and was like: ugh!

How can anyone even play an archer these days? There are like -6 AB penalties everywhere!

Yep the system is no bueno IMHO. Everything is in the way. Including prone bodies of dead guys not yet disappeared.

add in higher end mobs that have displacement and DR stacks. its hard. buffed i had to run an AB ~60 to compete. expensive hobby.
