Summoning a planar by its true name

Unread post by adobongmanok »

Noob question...is there like a step-by-step on how to practically do this? I think I got a true name from a dusty tome and a material gem that can come with it. Is there a step-by-step guide on how to do this because I have no clue on how to do this ritual...

dedude mentioned that a summon can be called in two different places at once. Or at least that the system tries to avoid that scenario.

You can read up on it here, specifically under the section: How to call a planar being using its true name.

A specific being (one unique true name) that is already called to our plane can't be called by someone else. Your calling spell will simply fail. And, after being called, that being is also locked to the calling character for quite a long time, during which no other character can contact it.

Best coin sink we have created thus far, even if it only last till all the dusty tomes have been experimented upon.

Blew up two diamonds today, now I need to grind or barter for canaries and blues to blow up. ;)

There is not a fixed amount of dusty tomes, they are dynamically generated when used. There is a "fixed" number of unique beings though, but no more fixed than we continually add new ones.

It might be a good idea to make the books a bit less common. I have found 3 and have only gone to like 3 dungeons in the past 3 months. Maybe I am extraordinarily lucky but 1 of those 3 had a true name. 100k for a canary diamond and I am in business.

If a true name is put on a diamond does it block summoning on a higher hd canary diamond? Or even a blue diamond? If so I could be soooo trollish.

Doesn't block until you actually summon it.
