Is it godmodding to RP that your character met Alustriel?

Unread post by Arn »

Are we allowed to RP that our characters have met Alustriel, the ruler of Silverymoon? Nothing important, nothing saying they're best buddies, but just a greeting and exchanging of pleasantries, etc.

Totally understandable if this is not okay, but I thought I'd ask because I read the following in The Seven Sisters, which suggests it is actually kind of easy to meet Alustriel:

"Such private appointments may be for something
as grave as a face-to-face meeting with a
Red Wizard who wants to force Silverymoon to
do something, or something as small as a proud
parent introducing a shy young citizen of Silverymoon
to its ruler. Alustriel deals with all
folk. Since the day she had to deny one Drizzt
Do’Urden entrance into the city (an act that
troubled her deeply), she has welcomed all
manner of beings to meet with her. Most such
meetings serve to let folk in the North see her
and befriend her if they wish
."

-The Seven Sisters, page 16

"The noon meal is never a formal affair. When
it is over, Alustriel strolls through the streets of
the city briefly, chatting with her people
, and
sometimes summoning agents to deal with
problems on the spot."

-The Seven Sisters, page 17

"Evening court gives way to evenfeast. Unless a
royal visitor is being entertained, such meals are
always informal, and folk are encouraged to move
about and talk with their fellow diners, including
the High Lady They may even repair to side tables,
alcoves, and the like for conversation. Eating
hearty and having a good time is the rule, not ceremony
or formal entertainment. Many tables are set
up in the High Hall at the rear of the Courts block,
and about 400 folk of the city dine together. (Inhabitants
of the High Lady’s Palace usually arrive by
means of well-guarded tunnels.) A skilled minstrel
always plays quietly throughout evenfeast, providing
soft background music.
Though this daily public feast is a security
headache for the folk of the palace, would-be
assassins are publicly warned that Alustriel customarily
wears an ironguard ring at such times,
in addition to her other protections."

-The Seven Sisters, page 18

We think that is fine for your character (or other characters) to have met Alustriel once in their life and had a simple meeting with her, that gives them no importance, better or worse standing or any privilages from Alustriel.
