FAI, Lykourgos: Dusty tome and several mithral light armors

Unread post by WatWatsen »

A note, simple and without adornment, is posted at the Inn.

"Hail, adventurers. I seek to auction off several items for the purpose of funding equipment upgrades. I have:

One dusty tome, unopened. Its contents shall be known only to its purchaser.
One suit of a silvery lightweight chain shirt, unenchanted.
One breastplate of the same material, unenchanted.
One suit of chain mail of the same material, on which I can detect a minor enchantment of courage.

One-tenth of the proceeds shall be donated to the orphanage in Baldur's Gate.

Helm watch over you,
Lykourgos."

//One unused dusty tome, one mithral chain shirt (4/6 armor/dex), one mithral breastplate (5/5 armor/dex), one mithral chain mail (6/4 armor/dex, +1 saves vs fear)

A small note is pinned next to the first..

[parchment].
40 bags for the tome. 50 without the dust.

Sirion
[/parchment]
"They're just furry and misunderstood."
"Is that why you are killing them?"
"Yes. They will atone in death."
"Ah. That will help them understand."

"Sirion currently has the high bid on the tome. Are there any other interested parties? All bids are welcome for this as well as the other items. The mithral chainmail is of particularly high craftsmanship, and would be a fine choice for one favoring agility and possessing magical talent."

"A generous offer. Shino's bid shall stand, unless there is further interest in this item."

The Sembite Orion walks by.

White the tome seems fun enough, I noticed someone wearing the same armor as I today, so I need a replacement. That chain mail of mithral is indeed lovely. How does 50,000 coins for it sound?

(to Shino)

"I am terribly sorry, sir, but while your last offer is exceedingly generous, I did promise the other gentleman that the item would be his should his offer stand for a day and a night, and that time span did just barely pass before I heard from you. I could not break my word, so I must honor Kellrin's bid of 350 bags as the winning bid. I do hope you understand, and that none are offended."

//Really sorry, but I had to go in for a super early morning shift today and wasn't home to close the auction on the tome at the time that I said I would. If Kellrin isn't able to pick it up, I'll honor your previous bid of 300 and consider that the winning bid.

(to Orion)

"That is rather more than fair, sir. In a day and a night it shall be yours."

//24 hours and it's sold to Orion
