The color of Monsters name???

Unread post by Brutalix »

So the majority of monsters I fight have a light purple color for their name. I come across a few with yellow that look to be larger and a little stronger, but tonight I cam across on 2 separate occasions monsters that had a very dark purple color for their names. They didn't appear to be any stronger and didn't drop any special loot as well. Why was their name that color and are their other colors for monsters names that I haven't come across yet?

Dark purple names are part of an area counterstrike. The unique quality to them is they seem to be in a group of 4-7 and will be led by a yellow or two. They will also typically have a huge aggro range and will advance on your location.

Yes this happens when you camp an area and kill their peoples too long. They send in a special forces unit to wipe you out. If you however wipe them off the map then you will find no other spawns will spawn. As in you killed em all.....Have to leave the area and reset it...Pretty unique. I have actually gotten the message. You see enemy running away in the distance and then the area was a ghost town....

That's actually incredibly cool though. Does this happen with mindless creatures like undead?

From my experience, the dark purple name enemies are also of higher level than the regular ones. They tend to have higher AB and yield more xp in any case.

And they pretty much all zero in on you wherever you are on the map. Had a pack of Flinds run all the way from one end of the map to the other to find me when I triggered a gank squad to appear on the Uldoon Trail.

For the sake of suspension of disbelief, assume such creatures are being directed/controlled by a non-mindless creature.

Not a far stretch in fact as in every one of the undead dungeons there is some type of intelligent creature that would summon and control undead! :ugeek:

However just one of the many really cool things that people like Dedude are introducing to this server. Just amazing really.
