Partner for ed

Unread post by aaron22 »

Looking for a running mate for ed. This must be something that is in the same light as ed. Ed has a background and if you wanted to toss your lot in creating a humorous and thoughtful background like was created for ed I will more than consider it. Me and my nephew on an to try to run this toon up from zero and chronicle the thing as well as I can. I'm not an experienced or practiced writer so I will do my best.

Wouldn't this break the 3b20 rule?

I've been wanting to roll a commoner/man at arms/bard.

In particular, a drunk veteran beggar, who thinks "everybody thinks they are too good for everybody else". He would be the type to befriend an orc, and even humor it, and try to get in fights with people that don't like it, insult nobles and mages, make bad friends. Basically make all the wrong decisions, blame everybody else. A chaotic neutral drunk, gambler, who "doesn't care about money" and "can quit drinking any time". Also lies a lot, and doesn't see stealing from friends as a big deal, since they do it to him all the time.

I was thinking medium intelligence, low charisma, higher wisdom. A fist fighter, but not a monk, that wears padded armor. Good will saves, not too bad on reflex and fortitude. Probably worship Tymora, since to him, life is all about luck.

However, I gotta say, Ed's story doesnt make a whole lot of sense. And it isnt the worst build ever now there is commoner and malus feats.

Ill consider it.

well let me clarify a bit. i am looking for a build as i have a player that wants to run with an ed concept. the commoner class and malus feats may be useful in this case, but i was not gonna base the build on that. instead taking useful feats awkwardly to create a story of the character. cleverly using malus feats to keep away an advantage that could be used.

i would also be taking R2-3 at 16-17 and SS2-3 at 18-19 to meet the 3b20 rule. it should not upset the build much to do this.
