The feature is broken and your character may have low wis or int.

It's obviously a bug, because everyone knows that it's Elves who are genderless...

Yep, there are many issues with disguise/appraise mechanics that have never been prioritized. IIRC M3ntalist opened a thread about it not long ago, I'll see if I can find and bump it.

very low appraise skill means i should RP that my character cannot see or hear at all or just assume the most ridiculous disguise is being used.
