The Hand of Bane.

Unread post by Incarnate »

Hello everyone.

A friend and I have been considering to create a following, cult, etc. of Bane.
We don't know if there already exist such within this server, if so we'd like to know before begin to establish this, and furthermore we also would like to know if this is something that requires DM approval.

We acknowledge that Bane isn't exactly that not many would follow or even worship Bane and that carrying and showing his symbol is illegal in Baldurs Gate and other towns and villages. So it will take a great deal of subtle and roleplay to get something like this going, however we think it would be cool of if he's represented by players with in game characters rather than npc's.

Also to the more technical aspects of this, if we're allowed to do this, how exactly would we get more permanent accomodations / a base of operations - a church or temple, the very least a place to erect a statue or shrine for Bane.

On another note, if anyone here would like to join us, feel free to let me know.

I believe the zhentarim still are very much into Bane, might be worth it to get in touch with the guild.

Sounds like a good idea, would you happen to know who is the current head of The Zhentarim - link to forum account would be appreciated so I can pm the leader directly.

I still do need the above answered. :)

Note: Some might already have seen some activity from Bane's followers.

Welcome to the server!

You'll be looking for Dreadlord Selengil Harkonis in game.

Darkhold, the Zhentarim Fortress of this server, can be reached via the caravan at Soubar.
Hidden: show
There's also a derelict Temple of Bane under Soubar itself, great for low level exploration.

Welcome to the server.

First stop for any information on Guild/Cult/Clan/General groups activities would be this section of the forums.

Guilds and Factions.
viewforum.php?f=16

Handy hint. Use the search function (Red button, top right of forums), type in Bane, and select in the "small" scrollable window the forum section to search in (in this case, Guilds and Factions).
This should narrow down your investigations significantly and make your research more enjoyable.

Thank you for the welcome.

Thank you for the travel directions.
I noticed on the The Zhentarims page that I should consider sending an IC letter - how exactly do I go about sending a letter in the game?

Thank you for the welcome.

I did do this - the church of bane thread was last entry was the 10'th of January 2010, almost 8 years ago - doesn't seem active.

I also found the The Zhentarim page, however the guild leader hasn't been on since October 2017. Though I will try to message him anyways.

In the mean time, if any one knows of members of the Church of Bane, please direct them here, as I've heard they have their own private forum on which they're active, if they're still active that is.

To avoid any metagaming, any member of the church of Bane is encouraged to pm me information regarding this.

Church of Bane was absorbed into the Zhentarim's Sword Coast cell just prior to my character's ascension to leader of said cell. It was still part of the guild last I checked.

Selengil/Wolfshear can be notoriously difficult to round up at times. I'll be happy to send him a nudge for you.
