The Brachina..

Unread post by Incarnate »

Just before there was someone playing as a Brachina - I suspect that was DM.
Then there was a outtage or something - came back, seems whoever was playing it is gone..

Would be cool if you would come back and finish what you started ;) as we're still doing rp in relation to that, with investigations and such.

Deus ex machina is a Latin calque. The term has evolved to mean a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved by the inspired and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object.

Ahh, that makes much better sense now.

By the way, there is now something up on the bulletin board about it - so it might be a great idea for whoever started it to continue as there will now be growing buzz about it.

It was not a DM.

You ran into someone that was testing her new planar summon capabilities out in an area she didn't expect anyone to be. I had to teach her how to do the voice throwing while she was freaking out in discord. Good fun. :D

It certainly was a possibility, while also considering that we had undead spawning in a much higher rate than the usual rate for the area.

The character also possessed shapechanging abilities - at will, which supported the DM assumption.

Anyways, our characters doesn't know this, and it has set in motion what I discribed above.
So it could be the start of some very interesting RP.

I'm not saying you were wrong for guessing it might have been a DM, I'm just saying in this instance, it wasn't. ;)

Who knows, maybe a DM might get inspired to run with the thread if my friend or nobody else does, especially since devils have invaded Dragonspear. Could be a good plot in that!

I certainly do hope either of this happens, as it could really be some seriously awesome rp that could happen.

You guys couldn't have come in like 20 seconds earlier while I had the Djinn out? We could have RP'd a Sinbad movie :D

Seriously though, that was literally -the last- summon I wanted to see the stats of. Glad that I was at least able to (sort of) play it off as a neat RP experience. I figured if you guys were new than at least it'd be more interesting than plinking zombies. I only realized later how extremely unfortuitousness the timing was on testing planar summons 30 feet away from the Radiant Heart HQ the same day the demon invasion started. D'oh.

I'd love to do more of that sort of stuff but I'm not a DM and all it takes is one guy to walk in with see invis and I'm dead.

Would've been interesting with the Djinn.

Well, if you want to do some more rp based on the event I'd be interested.

As for see invisible I got it just before the server reset, so you were lucky in a sense.
