An eleven figure frequently patrols the roads North of Beregost, South of Beregost, and towards Durlags tower. She would be dressed in Blue and Silver armor, wielding two scimitars. Her patrols mainly focus on the safety of travelers, dispatching monstrous creatures as well as hostile humanoids that would threaten travelers.

A poster was hung out, by a young woman. All clad in silver and white she came from the North. She remained a little while, to talk to the folks or maybe farmers if someone was around and in the mood to chat before she left later.
[parchment]Thank you!

The donations from the Winter Bake Sale were given to the farmers of Beregost to cover lost crops and to buy new tools. We are grateful about every coin given, even from those who don't have much themselves.

The elven appearing woman would venture closer to Beregost, still tirelessly doing her best to keep threats away from the roads and walls, often leaving a wake of dead monstrous humanoids and bandits in her wake. If any were to follow her trail they would often see blood from her wounds, yet she still does not approach the city for aid or supplies, tirelessly securing the roads to the best of her ability.

Rumors may spread that a battle took place North of the gate, with a unit of Guardsmen being led by Lieutenant Dan Taylor of Beregost. On the road before the bridge to the North, many corpses of goblins and trolls, as well as ogres and giants are seen throughout the area. Apparently goblins were found in the storage area of Beregost, and chased off to the North where the unit walked into an Ambush.

An elven figure in blue, a human woman, a female gnome, and a male hin were seen assisting the unit as they fought off the would-be attackers. At the end a strong Troll capable of necromancy was seen, leading to a long fight between the Lieutenant, and four travelers against him resulting in the creature being fallen. The group took minimal casualties or wounds in the conflict.

During the 11th night watch of Beregost this month a solitary traveller arrived in town from the northern track.

Image

He did not refresh himself at the local taverns but rather stood a lone vigil across the street from the Temple of Lathander, despite poor weather. Occasionally smoking a tobacco pipe the man seemed content to simply watch who came and went - and was clearly unconcerned about the conspicuous manner in which he did so.

All the while, armored fingers patiently clicked through a looped string of prayer beads dangling from his swordbelt.

Before dawn, the traveller entered the holy temple. Blessing himself in with the sign Torm he approached Kelddath Ormlyr directly while the priest was making religious preparations; "I am Inquisitor Anthem Arnemeiger, a Knight-Senior of the Order of the Radiant Heart." the man introduced himself mid stride.

Image

He had come to a halt before the priest, a musk of pipesmoke curdling with rich temple incense of Lathander's holy palace. Anthem's scar-cut but noble face might as well have been ironclad for his austerity refused to yield so much as a platitude of a smile to the Dawnlord. He was grim, but he did offer the holy man the salute of a knight.

"I come in the name of Torm, seeking a man of Lathander named Ghalen. I presume he congregates here with the other faithful - or is at least known to you.

When Ghalen comes to worship, tell him that I am seeking him on a formal enquiry and much desire to meet with him. I am passing on southward, but I will return."

The Paladin Inquisitor gestured gramercy, surrendered a small a tithe at the altar and began to depart, but not without pausing - just briefly - to look back over his shoulder and admire the architecture of the temple on his way out.

After a series of reports from farmers who come to pray at temple, on families of land-ravaging boars showing up as of late, on the 9th day of Deepwinter, Saul Aurora and three members of the Elder Circle (Freya, Vendor and Sane), set out to investigate why and from where these animals migrated.

Image

Some of the sightings mentioned abnormally sized creatures, while others described boars with multiple 'monstrous' tusks. Saul put some of these in perspective though, telling that various of these observations have been made by playing farmers' kids.

Image

Their journey let them all the way to the outskirts of the Uldoon Trail where they possibly learned the very nature of the problem. The battle of some moons ago with Pol, may have scared off nature. Boars migrated east, and have started multiplying in the areas of Beregost's farms.

Image

In name of the farmers, Saul requested for a remedy. Members of the Elder Circle will patrol using dogs to scare off the boars and make them take off. Others will be hunted down. The farmer community will be asked for volunteers wanting to breed dogs for both purposes.

Farmers with dogs drive some Boars away from the fields. Fences make an appearance. Effort balanced with the crop value.

Rumor has it that Saul Aurora didn't take up leadership at the Morningsong temple after all. He hasn't resigned and is still active at the temple, ready to support a new leadership.

((When talking about time investment, time I would have to give up in rl or on other 'projects', it did not feel doable to breath new life into the faction and lead it. Saul will be around to support people who would want to try it themselves. Just not a main thing for me.))

A woman in deep blue coat with raven hair, is spied posting the following notice outside the Risen Phoenix; on a separate note, townsfolk on the outskirts might have heard a melodic voice, singing in what was believed to be elven

THE MAGIC DECK OF MANY TRICKS

*A sketch of The Imp and The Lord of Gold playing cards from the deck of Ric Yhondbe are rendered under the title of the notice*

Greetings and salutations! If you, anyone you know, has knowledge or possession of cards such as those rendered above, I implore you to contact my person at Candlekeep. I, Maurmeril Jvianin, Seeker, am leading a research project with the intent to record and preserve the knowledge of these cards and their use. With this in mind, I encourage any and all that have information to visit Candlekeep and exchange knowledge for knowledge – for donations of tomes containing knowledge – including allowing my person to copy said tome – and for donations of unique, individual cards – or allotting me time to sketch and study them – I will share what knowledge my research has provided thus far.

Please make note to exercise caution! These cards are known to disappear from perceived use, plays, and other actions with them. I recommend that you – or those you know – wrap the cards individually in cloth and refrain from handling them as playing cards. Tomes should be kept from the elements as much as possible, and preserved in their original state. I hope these words help preserve your find!

Fair Winds and Following Skies,

*On a dark night on the road south of Beregost, a dark knight strides along the road, two deep purple eyes glowing from the darkness of his heavy iron helm. His armour creaks with each step and a soft rumble, like churning stone, echoes along the quiet trail.

A sudden flare of red light rises from behind the hills to the west. The dark knight stops, considers, and turns smartly to the right, his long strides carrying him to the source. As he grows closer, a sulfurous stench wafts through the night air and his steps falter briefly before he runs to crest the hill.

Flaring red in the valley beyond is a bright circle wrapped in arcane symbols. Standing in the circle, it's feet wrapped in smoke, a massive leering, toad-like creature can be seen through the smoke and flames, it's body weeping noxious fluids and vapors.

Looking around the dark knight spies an old man on the far side of the circle, arms raised in command, speaking to the creature in some dark tongue. Beside him stands a mass of twisted bone and sinew, a towering shambling creation of human remains and foul magics.

The dark knight rumbles loudly, draws his blade and straps a massive shield to his arm. Lit by flame and wreathed in the foul fog, the dark knight charges downhill to strike justice at the evil summoner. His deep cry echoes across the valley, rough and grating, like a landslide with vowels.*

"Cease your dark magics, foul wizard.
You shall not raise threat to Beregost or it's lands whilst I bear breath!"

Image

*... Towards dawn a broken figure is spotted by the Beregost guard, crawling towards town. Deep gouges mar his black iron armour, and bloody ichor seeps from wounds on his body. The dark knight whispers of his defeat at the hands of the evil summoner and passes into unconsciousness as the guards bear him to the Temple of Lathander.*

A young man has been visiting the local taverns. He has a unique deck of cards with him, which he calls an "Imp" deck. He tells a story about how he and two women called Amber challenged some planar 'Kings' to a game. That those magical cards were first found scattered in the upperdark. These are just copies of those magical cards, though to those who ask he shows his Imp card from that fabled set. He then takes time to teach others the game and buy drinks. After a few rounds he begins offering bets.

Heart(AmbeHeart Depp Woodgrow) is not as clever as Trisan, she still is learning how to play the "Imp Deck" cards but the encounter with the 'Imp of The Cards' really is intriguing. She had nice time travelling with Amber Absinthe and Trisan and the discussion leads to two Treasure maps. Perhaps when the time comes, she will meet her nice dear friends and seek the treasures together. She always prays to Silvanus in order for her to find the correct path with her friends

A young Knight bearing the markings of the rather little known Red Knight has been about Beregost. He might have been seen speaking with Samuel in the Risen Phoenix, Kelddath of the temple of Lathander, Sheriff-Governor De Oca, and others. The Knight spent some time checking over the water supply and the orchards, even spending some time just observing the people in the market area. If any overheard, they might say he was asking about the epidemic that seems to be effecting the people.

A radiant, knightly looking man stepped up in front of the Ebon Blade flyer after a rumor brought him here. He whistled a low tune to himself. He was tired, he had worked all day and he knew for a normal man his shift would be over since a long time already.

Good thing he wasn't entirely a normal man.

Saul tore down the flyer, dropping the pieces into the nearest bin, and would go ask around to see if anyone witnessed who put this up.
