You level as paladin. Then swtich alignments. Then continue leveling as a bard. Many weird combos will continue to work mechanically, due to neverwinter 2 being a computer game.

It won't make you "Ex", that's the problem. You'll retain all your levels, and quite possibly all your powers. You won't be able to take more levels if the alignment is no longer appropriate, but most likely the powers and class features will remain available.

That's because it is a computer game and not pnp.

It doesn't, that's the problem. Mismatching alignment prevent you from taking more levels, but that's it. No other penalties.

Now, BGTSCC probably implemented few safeguards, but in general there are probably a trillion of crazy combinations that will continue work if free alignment shifting is allowed.

That's why this is the matter that should be handled by DMs.

Its just weird as this is something that is BUILT in to NWN2 - as far as I know, if you became a fallen paladin, you'd lose everything except for statistics gained. I don't know how it other Ex.classes was handled, but it could be tested real simple.

Anyways, if ex.classes is handled like it has been stated, then I can see the issue - though it would be adviseable to have the ex.classes properly implemented.

Other than the loss of spells, which is only specifically implemented on this server, not in the base game, none of it is implemented.

I question why it should be implemented as well. Unless it is something that a large portion of players are going to make use of I would say it is a waste of our limited (volunteers) time. In order to implement fallen paladins and other 'ex-classes' we would need to balance them all out, including how they interact with various PRC's that may be involved and then go through and code/script/whatever to make it all work together. There is already a significant book of work planned for the next two years so I don't see why this would be prioritized over what is already being worked on.

The reason being that if anyone were to become an ex.class either through rp or using such a tool, then the characters in question would actually lose the stated rather than just losing spells. But if the dms can enforce the loss of this just the same, then of course there is no need to implement it. Was only if they were going ahead with such a tool. The tool would be more a convenience thing, both for the dms and for the players.
