UD Blindness-
Just like UD races get on the surface, non low light vision people should get UD blindness too!

but it is not an actual mechanical debuff as it is in the inverse.

Re: UD Blindness-
They do, though its related to the depth and lack of light.
It might have been changed on account of Deep Imaskari. We had a complaint recently that Deep Imaskari were getting the penalties too. It wasn't changed.

Re: UD Blindness-
is that by passed by low light vision granted by the first level spell and is a common add on in other see(x) spells and spell like abilities.

Re: UD Blindness-
Darkvision removes the penalty.
Lowlight vision reduces it.
The penalties depend on how deep you are underground.

Re: UD Blindness-
I think low-light vision should aid and the Light spell (even if it will make most drow hiss).
I see Deep Imaskari stumbling around like they're surfacers. It's ridiculous and feels wrong. Falling on your back even when standing still every second round?!

Re: UD Blindness-
I've adjusted it so that Imaskari won't suffer Underdark specific darkness penalties anymore.
It'll be published next update.

Re: UD Blindness-
Thank you, Rasael. The few Deep Imaskari are likely relieved!
Is there a chance low-light vision might aid more, or the Light spell?
That said, I suggested some spells to counter surface light-blindness a while ago. If one side has something to negate it with, the other probably should. As they do exist in lore. (Although a slightly different topic.)

Both low-light vision and the light spell should already help against darkness penalties.

Re: UD Blindness-
Hey Ras, Glowfire was talking about spells to counter light-blindness for races like Drow and Grey Orc. i.e. Surface races can counter darkness, but UD races have to burn a feat to counter surface light penalties.

Re: UD Blindness-
I misread.
Both blindness and blindsight work to prevent light-sensitivity.

Interesting. I didn't even think of torches. Will have to try that

They don't, as far as I've been able to tell.Rasael wrote:Both low-light vision and the light spell should already help against darkness penalties.
Torches too.
My halfling mage tried low light vision and light spells to avoid stumbling around, but neither did the trick.
It took Darkvision to get her to stop tripping up. Both the spell Blindsight, and the feat granted through a belt she was fortunate enough to find seemed to do the trick.
I didn't try a torch, but if a torch works, a light spell really should as well imo.
