In Game Calendar - On the Forums!
Greetings,
I write reports and I like to use the in game (IG) calendar to do so. I have also used them for events within the community. I tend to forget what the IG month/year is. I often have to search what the name of the month is online (I mean, who remembers Uktar?) and then look up the current year on the forums.
It sure would be nice if we had that information on the forums in the bar above like we have RL date/time. I know there's a lot of stuff up there but this would make life that much easier and I think it would add to our playful nature as a community. I am not suggesting that the RL date/time be replaced or removed. Thank you for considering,
Dagesh

Doesn't every Calendar of Harptos month have 3 Tendays? That's 30 days a month, 12 months out the year.
Granted, that's only 4 months with direct corresponding Tenday dates, but hey...its fantasy. Wing it!!!

Yeah, I was pondering that but I figured since we fudge the year, I'm willing to fudge imaginary days. Having a IG date that corresponds to RL has proven fun and helpful (to me).Steve wrote:Doesn't every Calendar of Harptos month have 3 Tendays? That's 30 days a month, 12 months out the year.

I always use RL date to Harptos date even when it doesn't quite make sense. It's easier to fudge the calendar system than to be a day ahead or behind depending on the time of year.

...I do.(I mean, who remembers Uktar?)

And this addition to the forums would be pretty nice.

RL day = Faerun day.
So 31st Jan I would translate to 31st Hammer - even if that's incorrect. It means that players can easily 'translate' the date in their heads instead of doing silly maths and overcomplicating things.

i had to look it up but yea. that day would actually be called midwinter. just midwinter. no 1st or 31st... midwinter.Dagesh wrote:That's the way I do it.Glowfire wrote:RL day = Faerun day.

Re: In Game Calendar - On the Forums!
There would be, like, a lot of fudge in it... but since I totally like fudge, I don't have a problem with RL Day=Faerun Day. I do get a little hung up sometimes with actual names of the days (has anyone else ever just decided to name them by numbers? Like 1st Day, 2nd Day, 3rd Day etc?)
So a little ticker up at the top that says the date would be awesome. Perhaps something with the Harptos date, and the Dale Reckoning year?
That would be really groovy to have as an easy reference.
