Immersion breaking resurrections

Unread post by KOPOJIbPAKOB »

A typical situation: you are bearing your party member's body to the temple, but he suddenly decides to talk to Myrkul and he teleports to eastern farmlands alive and his corpse disappears. Few minutes ago he meets you at FAI.

Situations like this are totally immersion breaking and I have no idea how to roleplay it. Any thoughts?

You do not role-play such things. You just tell the guy; for about 500 gp you would have retained your now lost experience points.

But honestly, what can you roleplay? Except that there was a time skip since you last saw the guy?

My go to approach is to assume they were left in care of the priest.

If they respawn in the field, then assume by some accident they got lost. In Cloud Peaks, assume they fell into some random frozen cave and found their way out after regaining consciousness.

This requires you to treat death as "coma" rather than death as standard result of -10 HP.

SOme things by other players just can not be RP properly and you must simply in my opinion just go with it.....Although as I get more into this server after 4 years and really challenge myself to RP and RP my sheet better I can see the point of this.

I just shake my head I guess? What else is there?

PM them as you come upon their body, that you picked them up. At least if they have the sensibility, they would wait until you came to the priest.
