I kinda can’t believe I’m actually the one doing this, but since a number of Staff seem to be partaking in the “takedown” of this Player’s suggestion, as well as the subject of that suggestion—though I myself might find it godmodding this Server—I think you all should remember the Forum Rules, and STFU (or at least inform the Head DMs privately so They can do their jobs and sort it out).
2. "Flaming," personal attacks, disrespectful, derogatory, threatening, insulting, or negative comments directed towards or about another member of the community will not be tolerated. This encompasses "trolling," or posts purposely intended in instigate a member of the community in order to create any of the above or disrupt the discussion.

3. If you have an issue with any other player or member of the staff OOC or ICly, do not post about it on the forums, instead use personal messages to solve it.

As for becoming a deity, you could browse through this list of demideities, or demigods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_F ... emideities

If you read through the list of demigods, you will see that in order to become one, you are required to have a Divine Sponsor of some kind. Bane, Tempus, Talos, etc.

Now, I am not going to see the effort to double check, but that wikipedia page does state that the current Siamorphe is a nobleman living in Baldur's Gate.

...

So as for this 'Samael Amakiir' becoming a deity... Perhaps it could be possible through finding enough of a cult following and divine texts of Talos in the same manner as Velsharoon did it, or will do it. Perhaps this 'Samael Amakiir' is just a fool used by some archdevil or most likely a demon prince to gain godhood in the Forgotten Realms. A fool to be consumed and replaced when the time is right.

Now, personally, I am not a fan of any player character becoming a deity of any kind. But, there is always a but, achieving godhood is a thing that happens in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting...

The original poster might not actually be joking. He's part of that guild. I'm kind of worried, actually, if there are people who can take that backstory seriously.
I am pretty sure his backstory violates some rules. Also to become a god with those domains I am pretty sure he would have to take them from other gods?

Have to be careful here. Setting the precedent of godhood for one character opens a Pandora's box. Will all of our characters be ascending? Will this be the only one? How will they decide who gets to become a god? I am still a bit concerned about the whole Lord/Lady thing being what it is as people who play without DM's around have no chance of gaining rank. Lots of us have been around for years and have no titles to show for it let alone godhood.

For the record btw I am not trolling. I am genuinely curious if we can ascend to become greater deities.

To my understanding if one wishes to be a Lord you need to swear fealty to the Dukes of BG or for Amnish area the people in charge of Amn. Then a sum of gold should be given as well probably to simulate land holdings or some such. There will of course be RP on the situation.

ALL OF THIS YOU MUST SEND TO THE DM TEAM AND TELL THEM HEY I WANT TO RP THIS PLEASE WILL A DM HELP ME OUT? Then politely pester them for the RP and send letters to the Dukes or whomever and start making noise. The squeaky wheel gets the grease you know.....

I'm going to lock this thread. I would encourage us all to please review the forum rules.

OP: I appreciate your suggestion, but unfortunately active PCs cannot be granted divine traits. The only way this would be even remotely possible is as a character retirement arc, and even then I am afraid it's probably not possible (as I can't imagine the DM Team approving such a retirement request).

For this kind of thing, it is probably best to write a fun, personal short story about the character in question after they've been retired from active play on BG:TSCC. :)
