Add Everthrow sling to stores
I'm pretty sure it can't be bought anywhere.
Can it be added to shops? Infinite ammo bows/crossbows are available.

Not a bad idea. It makes more sense to have infinite ammo for a sling than the other weapons, afterall.....rocks are lying around everywhere. That's what made these so essential as weapons back in the day, even as useful light hunting tools for nomads and wanderers.
Would be cool to implement items that grant infinite ammo but not on the weapon itself, like a quiver of endless arrows/bolts, satchel of endless ammo. Even if it was a use-able item that spawned basic ammo in your inventory when you used but had infinite charges/etc.
Would also be cool to see other items that could be used to maybe enhance the ammunition, a stone polish kit that that's you change the ammo to +1 or something (limited charges), or set of arrowheads. The use of the kits could promote RP of ranged type characters readying their weapons, kind of similar to how a whetstone is currently used.

Everthrow sling already exists in the game. It simply needs to be added to the stores, because currently it cannot be bought from a shop (as far as I know).Reckeo wrote:Not a bad idea. Infinite ammo quivers are cool and all, however, those do not exists in the game, require work and would need to be scripted.

Sling is already the best range weapon imho. What really needs to be improved is throwing weapons. It is annyoing as hell when you waste your stack of axes in like 7-8 turns (about a minute of real time) and your character doesn't replace them automatically, he runs in close combat, rapid shot turns off, you have to manually take new axes, or you can do it with hotkey but in this case you need to replace the icon over and over. Playing thrower character is a huuuuuuge headache, this what needs to be impoved.

What are the stats of a such item?
As for throwing weapons, when you see a stack of 99 mundane (Throwing Axe, Dart, Shuriken), just keep buying it. The inventory thinks you can only have stacks of 50, and thus the extra throwing weapons will overflow into a one singular extra stack. Then you just sell the stacks of 50, and keep the one with 2000+ or so throwing weapons, and you can keep throwing without issue. It kind of limits your build though, as you kind of need other sources of damage than the weapon enchantments on your throwing weapons. It is doable though, a high strength bard has worked just fine for me.

You can already buy a +4 sling with +1 Piercing, +1 Electric, and +1 Sonic, in Baldur's Gate... So this 'Everthrow' sling doesn't sound like an unreasonable addition.

Those items are useful for archer types. Standard price for them is fairly high - at least 70k gold, which makes them a decent investment, but it is not hell gear level.

Also, I recall a situation in the past where it took me two months to find a damn cold iron falchion. Unenchanted mundane one. +0. It took 2 months of searching till the damn thing accidentally drapped in the lair of great white wyrm. I feel like this is not a thing that should be happening. I mean, I would be able normally to go to Maltz and shower him with gold and make this damn thing happen.
Because I can't craft such weapon, and because I can't craft ammunition (like described here: viewtopic.php?f=443&t=63857 ), it makes sense to make them available.
Power level wise this thing is a joke.

I dont think it makes sense to have unlimited ammo ranged weapons and weapons of the same type that require ammo. After searching the forum it seems that many people are looking for the unlimited ammo weapons just to be done with the tedious ammo management. In other cases some suggest that they use unlimited ammo bows as a to go weapon, and all the other ranged weapon diminish just as a tool to use special ammo.
I think the best option for ranged weapons is the introduction of infinite ammo quivers, bullet bags and so on as suggested in the thread i linked. So the variety of weapons does not diminish to just a few with unlimited ammo and makes it fun because of no having to deal with a tedious ammo management.
Further, this could be used as a nice gold sink. I am sure people would pay several hundred thousand gold just for a 1d4 fire arrow unlimited quiver.

Infinite ammo weapons, by the way, usually inferior to magical non-unlimited ones and have less extra enchantments on them. So it is really a matter of not having to buy ammunition ever again. For powerful weapons, there are usually better choices available.

While a nice idea, crafting increases the time it takes to manage your ammunition drastically.
