Necessary item change?
Considering how superior mithral armor in general is these days... How about changing dragonhide and other named items match it?

Re: Necessary item change?
It IS really odd that a material like Dragonhide or Adamantine is immediately passed over by like EVERYONE in favor of the shiny blue metal. Adamantine is supposed to be super cool and valuable, as a weapon or an armor. Dragonhide just feels underwhelming.

Re: Necessary item change?
Will the dragonhide armor have the 20/- elemental resistance? Maybe. Will it have the 20% weight reduction? Maybe? What is the Armor Enchantment on it? +3? Ehhh... I'll use my +4 suit of armor.
Adamantine? It gives 1/-, 2/-, or 3/- damage resistance that doesn't stack with itself or any other source of damage reduction...? At the very best you can make use of one adamantine item. Maybe a tower shield? But what of the enchantment bonus on it? Oh, it has none? I guess I will just keep using my +4 Tower Shield. (Whoever can buff up the shield gets better DR from other sources.)
Mithral? It allows you to get +2 points of AC from dexterity as a suit of armor and also reduces the arcane spell failure. Mithral Heavy shield has 0 arcane spell failure. There are a lot of gishes on the server.
...
...
Adamantine weapons, however, go through spell DR. That makes it the most wanted type of weapon ever, and it is also why those will not be added on this server, ever. At least not without a substantial increase in "+Concentration" items.

Adamantine is usually preferred for weapons, but, casters.

I think Sun Wukong hit the nail on the head in describing how I look at special materials right now.

Re: Necessary item change?
Ada armour DR (1-3) I feel is rather pointless when most PCs/NPC PvE are putting out at least 30dmg per hit.
It's probably good for low CR content.
