Fey'ri (Underdark Race)
With the addition of new shapeshifting and disguise self mechanics, Fey'ri seem very possible to code. Assuming they can be balanced between ECL +1 and ECL +3, would they be worth considering as a UD race?
I say UD because they'd be KoS by Sun Elves and the like.

There's a copy from Races of Faerun. Probably wouldn't want to let them have DR 10/cold iron, so could nix the stronger racial ability choices and have a functional ECL +2 race.
Though I don't think we currently have a working way to change the character models besides using Polymorph/Shapechange/Wildshapes. So at-will Disguise Self would be of limited use.
Having them as an UD race makes no sense, but they also would be KOS most places on the surface, much like grey orcs are.
Then again, since all the fey'ri are still imprisoned as of current ingame year on the server, I doubt they'll make it in as a race.

Re: Fey'ri (Underdark Race)
All fair points! The idea came about after a sun elf told one of my characters some history surrounding the creation of the Fey'ri. I remembered the race and its role in Faerun, and I figured it might actually be an interesting addition if its powers were kept in check.
It's nothing I'll push for - just wanted to throw the suggestion up while it was on my mind.

I'm pretty sure not many know of the Fey'ri nowadays, even among elves.
Also, they're not exactly numerous either.
Add to that, as mentioned by above, they're still in their 5000 year old prison and won't be seeing any daylight the next decade or so.

I was also under the impression that most of the elves do not even know or believe that Fey'ri were real or ever existed by the time they attack Tower Reiloch, which happens in 1373 and we are in 1354. Furthermore, Sarya Dargaleth and the first wave of Fey'ri only get released in 1369.

Re: Fey'ri (Underdark Race)
Don't we have some Fey'ri NPCs that spawn in certain areas? I'm pretty sure I've seen them in the Forest of Wyrms.
Wirg to Pug: "Iz lat dun?"
Pugratix to a snarky militia man: "Mmmm. Not yet. I will live for hundreds of years and be heralded as one of the greatest forces of destruction on the face of the world. The only thing you can destroy is the outhouse."

Yes, they're in the forest of wyrms.
And lore wise, they didn't all get imprisoned just the majority and nobility, so there could be slightly watered down versions of them out there. Though I don't see them as being much different than an elven version of tieflings once we change them.

Re: Fey'ri (Underdark Race)
That was my initial idea. Close to tieflings, perhaps with a Disguise Self or similar SLA, MAYBE at will since they're supposed to be good at that. But otherwise, -2 CON instead of -2 CHA. It'd be interesting to see red-skinned elves running around trying to convince people they're just tieflings, they swear!Though I don't see them as being much different than an elven version of tieflings once we change them.
From the link Cenerae gave...
IMO, nix Demonic Abilities entirely or pick 1-2 abilities from the list to give all Fey'ri (I'd suggest just cutting these abilities entirely), give them at-will alter self (or disguise self?), keep them at ECL +2. They still run the risk of being detected by True Seeing, as this is not an EX ability, but a spell-like ability. Someone staring at them that knows magic would know something doesn't match up.+2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, -2 Constitution. Fey'ri are quick and smart, but their inbreeding makes them weak.
Medium-size.
Fey'ri land speed is 30 feet. When in their winged form, they may fly at a speed of 40 feet with a maneuverability rating of Poor.
Darkvision up to 60 feet.
Low-light vision: Fey'ri can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar cnditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
Immunity to magic sleep spells and effects.
+2 racial bonus on Will saves against enchantment spells and effects.
Alter self (Sp): Fey'ri can use alter self at will to assume any humanoid form, and can remain in that form indefinitely.
+2 racial bonus on Bluff, Hide, Listen, Search, and Spot checks.
Elven Blood: For all abilities and effects, a fey'ri is considered an elf. Fey'ri, for example, can use or create elven weapons and magic items with racially specific elven powers as if they were elves.
Outsider: Fey'ri are native outsiders.
Demonic Abilities: Every fey'ri has four special abilities drawn from the following list: charm person (Sp) 1/day, clairaudience/clairvoyance (Sp) 1/day, damage reduction 10/+1*, darkness (Sp) 1/day, detect thoughts (Sp) 1/day, dimension door* (Sp) 1/day,enervation* (Sp) 1/day, fire resistance 10, suggestion (Sp) 1/day, +2 racial bonus on saves against electricity, or +2 racial bonus on saves against poison. Fey'ri spell-like abilities use the fey'ri's character level for the effect. the DC is Charisma-based. A fey'ri can only have one ability from the list that is marked with an asterisk (*), and any fey'ri with one of these three abilities has a higher level adjustment that a fey'ri without one.
Level Adjustment: +2. Fey'ri are slightly more powerful and gain levels more slowly than the common races of Faerun. This is because the elders of House Dlardrageth bred for immediate power at the expense of long-term ability. Fey'ri with damage reduction or the dimension door or enervation spell-like abilities have a level adjustment of +3 instead of +2.
Since Baldur's Gate doesn't seem to treat Tieflings as KOS, I'm willing to bet they'd also not make Fey'ri KOS - but elves would.

Weeee... Demon Winged Pale Master Doron Amar Elves...

I do think the Fey'ri were released early on this server... It was some random event back in the early days of the server. But way back then, you could also claim to be a half-fiend with a tiefling, etc.

Re: Fey'ri (Underdark Race)
I would hope that Fey'ri would be KOS for pretty much all elves due to what they represent, but I can't claim to know this would happen. The elf I have on this server is like... the first elf I've played in D&D, on tabletop or in NWN2.Weeee... Demon Winged Pale Master Doron Amar Elves...
If that's a major concern, though, I have no drive to push for the Fey'ri existing. It was a "wuddin it be cool if" moment than anything.
I definitely do NOT want to see winged demon elves prancing about the elf villages as if nobody wants to kill them.
