Ardem Yay met two others traveling in the fields of Baldurs Gate, “Know any druids by chance?” Ardem would ask the two. “Why?” the two replied. “Because the farmers here are affected by something seeming very unnatural, and we need another to look into it...” Ardem would answer and explain to them that the situation is impacting abled work, and that Ardem is looking to join the Town Guard just to try and support him and his mother at this rate.

Come to find out, they were followers of Illmatter and explained that if in need of shelter and food to seek out the temple in the City walls. Ardem became intrigued with them and this Illmatter, and wanted to know more.

The one of the two would show Ardem to the temple and along the way a few others that are allied with the temple of Illmatter, and explain what they do. Once they reached their destination they would have a long chat over a bowl of soup.

The half-orc would have gave Ardem many ideas and avenues to choose from to help support he and his mother, but in the end, with the half-orcs help, Ardem would have chosen to follow Illmatter and learn what he can from what the temple has to offer.

The half-orc would give Ardem coin to give to his mother, and send her away from the fields so she could better support herself while Ardem learns from the temple and trains to become a healer.

Ardem would have done as requested by the half-orc and return to the temple after.
