crafter build
looking for ideas and concepts for a non human crafter build. crafting is just wands and pots etc, but can make use of these tools. i can tell you i do not want something that "all comes together" at level 27. that is not much fun for me.
maybe something in a sage style toon.

Wizard 25/Master Alchemist 5, done did done.
Either pick both spell focus conjuration or transmutation feats along with your desired crafting feats to make use of either summons or Shapechange and Polymorph to level up. Nothing says you cannot have both. You should get BAB of 21 with Augment Form. You can pull it off with any race. Grey Orc wizard, why not. Dwarf wizard, why not? Wild Elf wizard, why not? Wizards get the extra feats that can be spent on crafting... So the above build should be valid even when the server gets proper crafting, and wizards have Craft (alchemy, armor, weapon) as their class skill to boot.

Re: crafter build
Wands are only available up to level 4 spells while Master Alchemist allows potions up to level 7 spells... What are you looking for?
Technically if you want to maximize wand crafting something like:
W7/C8/D7/B8 would be able to craft all wands (UMD from Bard for Paladin Wands). However, OMG how awful would that be to level??? Pretty much would have to use Kro's Labyrinth/Descent to level up to ~20 and then just quest cuz you will get dispelled everywhere else.
Technically though, you could just go R3/W22/MA5 which would allow you to craft CL30 Wizard elixirs and you'd have UMD in order to craft wands for other classes. Once you get one scroll of any spell you want to make a wand with you can craft one wand and use it to craft other wands. Just max UMD and you can convert any scroll or wand from any classes spellbook in to other wands and potions.

Re: crafter build
As mentioned above, UMD is your friend when it comes to wand crafting. But when it comes to making high-CL elixirs, you'll have to pick one class. In my book, it's a toss up between Wizard and Cleric.

Re: crafter build
In that case I would recommend a three or four level dip into a class that grants UMD. You could choose one of the following base classes: Bard, Rogue, and Warlock, or perhaps pick one of the following prestige classes: Assassin, Master of Disguises, and Whirling Dervish.aaron22 wrote:druid wands? cleric wands? pali wands? very desirable..Sun Wukong wrote:Wizard 25/Master Alchemist 5, done did done.
Master of Disguises is actually one of the best classes to consider to acquire UMD as a class skill, because the PRC lets you avoid multiclassing experience penalty and only requires you to have 5 ranks in Bluff, Disguise, and Sense Motive in addition to the BAB of 5. Assassin requires 8 ranks in Hide and Move Silently, while Whirling Dervish requires additional 8 ranks in Tumble and two feats with ability requirement. The base classes will easily introduce a multiclassing experience penalty.
So I suppose the question is, do you need help with the build proper? Or is this enough?

Re: crafter build
im thinking i might pass up the MA and instead go with a bard build. one that focuses on int and cha. build would be unlikely to solo the balor naked. i know, but IDC. prolly better than the C8/M7/B8/D7. max xp on that toon would be like 30? yikes and it would be a lesser dispel magnet. the bard build would not need to multiclass at all really. that is if craft wand is available to a bard. if not, i can dip cleric.
bard has the lore skills for the sage portion as well as umd to read scrolls then craft wands. plenty of skill points. should be perfect.
no? why not?

Re: crafter build
storm singer wouldn't really fit the RP. sage/storyteller/lore seeker/historian.
edit: unless it is a sage/storyteller/lore seeker/historian with a "spark" of fury inside....see what i did there

this indicates that i may need to get some cleric or mage levels to get the feat.. feeling cleric as it gives me the religious tone that i like playing.Currently, the classes that can use this feat are: Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, and Ranger.

Re: crafter build
You can take the Craft Wand feat as a Bard in stock NWN2, most likely also as a Spirit Shaman or a Favored Soul... Someone has just been doing lazy copy-and-pasting from the nwn2 wikia into the server's own wiki. NWN2 wikia does not always hold correct information since 'muh feelingz' editors remove actual facts with their feelings... I mean the times the druid page has had its animal companion progression by level removed is just staggering. (Etc... Etc...)
Anyhow... if you are going for an INT-CHA bard... Then maybe this build can give you some ideas? http://nwn2db.com/build/?285323
I mean, some Invisible Blade or Duelist could let you get extra AC from your intelligence at least. But you could also go for Bard 26/Tempest 4, have that 17 dexterity for Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Combat Insight in the epics and you should have some damage potential.... I guess...

Re: crafter build
ok so i am kinda leaning Bard27/BM3. starting int 16. starting cha 16 gaining 4 int and 3 cha during level.
this will have the req 9-11 skill points i am wanting to build with.
with this i can have my sage that can use this vast knowledge to create wondrous items.
feats: battle caster, toughness, curse song, lingering, craft pot, craft wand, craft wond item
epic feat:+1Cha, CE, EP, CI, CoH, SoR, HoR
should be able to handle itself well enough to not be total trash.
