Treasure Maps FAQ

I'm just submitting this to confirm that treasure hunting works in game as follows:

Must use map on self to find area where treasure is located; Once in area, map must be used again and Search must be activated/used within 5 seconds of map activation to locate where buried treasure is hidden; Shovel must be equipped in weapon slot to dig up treasure. Digging will commence automatically, revealing a chest.

Chest will be revealed; Chest can and most likely will be trapped/locked.

Unsure at this time what dictates value of level of items in chest; the chest I looted was not equal to the value cost of the 500 gp to purchase the map (I looted something like 100 gp in item value).

Tested after server update on 3-19-18; confirming it works as described above.

i am curious as to where you get a map or npc with a map. i have never seen this at all.

I have purchased two from Dynamic Encounter NPC Spawns. Both from NPC's spawned inside the Friendly Arm Inn in the common dining area close to the bar. Map costs 500 gp, if purchased the NPC will then disappear.

Shovel's are sold on various NPC's (two were recently added, one in Soubar sells shovels, the other I do not recall), I purchased one from the Dwarf vendor right in the FAI courtyard, for a total of at least 3 NPC's that sell shovels.
