Dissonant Chord

Unread post by Caelin »

Hey all. I'm in the middle of planning out my next build. I was originally going to go pure bard, but I'm waffling on whether or not to slip in 5 levels of Dissonant Chord. The end build will have 16 charisma including gear. At that point is DC worth it? I'm not sure how effect the disrupt is, or if the Mordenkain's will be worth the 5 level investment and losing 2 epic bard feats for?

Any advice appreciated.

Well, Mords is quite powerful, but you are losing 2 epic feats at B26 and 29... I would say pick based on the RP. Only time you really use Mords is mostly PvP, but there are a few boss battles where it can be beneficial. If you were looking to Powerbuild you'd likely be going B26/R4, so that not being the case I wouldn't say one way is necessarily better or stronger than the other. A lot has to do with how you want to play. If you are good at managing your songs appropriately you can make yourself immune for difficult battles anyway by clever management of when to have the various songs activated.
