I paid back the traitor Cylissa today. I expected I'd find her near Soubar and was right. She spends all of her time with dark and evil forces. She is truly lost to us. I still payed her the debt I owed her plus ten percent interest because decent folk pay their debts...
She had the nerve to tell me I needed to get over her.. Get over her for paying a debt of coin? I don't even understand what she meant. Paying off that debt was both to keep my honor and to sever any ties with the evil being.
I expect If we meet again it will be in battle. Something is brewing on the sword coast and Cylissa has chosen the side of darkness.

I proposed a business deal with a fellow citizen, Moire, of Moire's Imports and Exports. She is a well known merchant and our business would benefit greatly if we became a subsidiary of her's. We have no recognition but she is well known on the coast and has many contacts. Weaving such a network of contacts could take us decades on our own.
I am very much looking forward to this! I will need to draw up some formal documents and make a formal business proposal. If this works out, it could go a long way toward our end goal of preparing for the coming war.

The gem business goes very well, much better than I would have expected. I have opened talks with Moire Rouge of Doron Amar about a partnership in this venture, since it is an area she has never expanded into.

Yesterday I saw the young tiefling, Minxy, that I helped out of poverty in the farmlands. It looked like she was with Dasha and Cylissa... This concerned me so I tailed her today. It is sad but they always turn out evil. Minxy was with bandits and people that worship evil gods. They lamented a drow they had to kill in the hilltop ruins. This is sad but not entirely unexpected...

I have been keeping my eye on another new friend blood I have recently met. She calls herself Hope; I suppose it's encouraging that her name isn't "Lady of the 4th ring of Hell" or somthing.
I have been impressed by her words and actions. She has not done any evil deeds in the time I have watched over her. I have also received nothing bit positive reports from Cherry and Aurelia.
Could this really be... a Tiefling that is resisting the pull of her curse? I don't even feel that normal fiend induced discomfort around her...

Today I came upon a horrid sight on the southern tradeway. A wagon had been waylaid and a strange black ooze was coming out of the victims mouths.
Autelia and I both took samples of the black substance and brought them to my lab at Doron Amar.
There was an altercation with a dwarf that refused to listen to any reason and burried the humans with his barbaric dwarven rituals. We exhumed the bodies and brought them to the temple of llmater so the priests could find the families.
Later the dwarf assaulted me at the gate. He shoved me and his goons provoked me in an attempt to force me to fight him.
After he shoved me several times I spat upon him and left.

I have observed a woman in the farmlands of late that never takes off her mask. When confronted about it she refuses to remove it. She has violet eyes and the skin I can see around her eyes is somewhat dusky.. I have a suspicion this is a dhaeraow elf of some half breed.. Why else would someone refuse to remove a mask?
Time will tell.. I will be keeping my eye on this one..

Today some orcs came to the friendly arm inn and requested peace. A group of adventurers. Ting Ping, Dasha, Mill and some others whose names i do not know attacked them and went to the nearby caves to kill more.
They said there can be no peace with orcs. Funny coming from the same people that call me a racist for not trusting tieflings and orcs. I've never gone to the village of any and murdered them...

The bodies Eowiel and I brought to the temple of Ilmater seem to have been infected with the same ooze that I saw adventures fighting on the road. I spoke with a member of the Radiant Heart about the matter.
Aurelia has a sample of the black ooze and I have a sample of the black water from the cave with the Hellfire machine that Cherry brought to me. She said she "thinks it's gots lots of evil magics". Most hin are decent folk and always bring a smile to my face.
I will need to research both of these samples in the tower laboratory to see if there is any connection. The mention of hellfire has me concerned, very concerned.
