Dire Bear too big..

Unread post by Akroma666 »

Can we get the size on summoned dire bear shrunk down a bit?.. the thing is 2 humans tall. Every time a NPC summons one it takes up most of the screen.

Dire Bears are Large type in D&D. That would be 8 ft. - 16 ft. in Length (quadruped). "A typical dire bear is 12 feet long and weighs as much as 8,000 pounds. "

In comparison, a Medium size type (Human) is 4 ft. - 8 ft. in Height (bipedal).

And dragons were massive once, I'm going for gameplay on this one, not actual size. The player dire bear is appropriately sized for mechanics, why not make the orc cave one appropriate.

It does seem too big, IG. And since its size isn't useful for anything mechanically—it can't body block or hide you from arrows—or just makes the seeing of things and movement difficult (for the Player).

At P&P D&D you just saying a dm a target of your attack or spell and got no any problem with battle. At NWN2 you need to click it. And if it standing near other monster (and its usally does) you just cant do it, cause model of bear and model of shaman - just collides.

P\S its seems bigger than at original. at D&D its says its 8-16 ft. but here its bout 40-50. and its more massive than dragon.

In game options allow you to bind keys for certain actions. For example, I have 'Next Hostile Target' bound to my 'Tab' key, and 'perform default action' to 'Q' key.

Hence I can just hit: 'Tab' - 'Tab' - 'Tab' - 'Tab' - 'Q' - and my character is hitting the summoner.

Now, it can be difficult to move around, but usually clicking and using 'WASD' is enough to get around.
