It did at some stage - at least according to the character sheet. Only for shapes that wielded a melee weapon, of course.

I read this one, too. But a) it was more about what feats could be activated rather than carried over (after all, many fighter feats carry over as well) and b) it was about Shapechange/Polymorph in particular. The Bear Warrior is another animal that is different in several ways, incl. ability mechanics, limited weapon attribute transfer, etc.

Alright, but as far as I understand it, One Weapon is like Northlander Hewing in that it is a Selectable Mode (and auto-turns off when Shaping, for example, weapon or no weapon on the Form).

No, One weapon or NH are not supposed to work while polymorphed, just vanilla combat modes.
