Never had a problem finding good or evil RP.

But you won't find it at the campfires, highly unusual.

I will also add, that the server extremely lacks evil character support. It is much harder to RP an evil toon itself for many reasons, and yet evil RP has no DM support now, sometimes even DM punishment instead. I have probably written about it before, but the most exciting thing at this server is IC conflicts, and lets be honest, without evil toons this server will soon turn into Sims-style benchwarming simulator with 1/2 statuses saying "Squire of the Silver Rose" and occasional Xvart grind runs.

I have a guild commitment but other than that I've been reliving the magic of nwn1. Logging in to grind doesn't interest me as much even if I have character designs I want to flesh out. Here's for 100% rcr this summer

as far as evil RP goes. it is not on the DMs to make it work. if you want it. make it happen. there are lots of us out here and we have been doing it for a long time.

i am in the orc rp scene and our RP growth is really good. it is some of the best and creative RP i have had. it is not for everyone, but to those that are in it, it is really blossoming. DM support is needed at times and you have to have patience when it is needed.

i also know well that it is not just orc RP that is blossoming either. with additions of some astounding RPers, including but not limited to Tsid, evil rp is reaching new levels.

my advice would be to keep plugging away. you will find it. it is there. and understand that most evil RP isnt happening at the campfire. and it may start with a fight, it is all RP and it is ok to roll with the punches a while.

evil and loving it. keep up the good work out there.

i think i was there and with another 15 other PC Rping last night. it is certainly not Evil RP but something is really happening. love the crowd though

Again, it's not small time evil we are talking about. Yes, your evil is small time. Nothing wrong with that BTW. Hellstorm crew was/is also small time evil (with connections to the big players) and I had a lot of fun back when I was part of it. And they're also needed.

Big time evil requires active DM support because of its grander scale. You can only control so much of the RP yourself, you know.

That's unfortunate. That was the whole magic of the place, really. I guess I just feel out of place now. Also I must point out campfire RP was always lame, maybe only enjoyable or logical if the group needed a quick rest or some back story told.
The friend that came back with me seems to fit right in now, but he never really was the "walk down the road and have a conversation" type.

I was thinking of making a pacifist healer type, to combat the surge of murder hobos ravaging the land with grind fests. Any suggestions where I might make some like-minded friends with my new healer?

I think you can find a game with your healer, since it goes well along with the favourite pasttime of the server - grinding.
Some may disaggree, but I believe socializing kind of RP is not RP at all. Sure, you can play your character's character, but it's actions that matter. I swear, this is so limited action-wise for players, than old CRPG's like Fallout or Baldur's Gate have more interactivity with the world for a player, feel more alive, that this server does. Anyone who puts aside mindless grinding and chatter would see that. Nothing is more frustrating than having a PC, comming from a certain background, who could not actualy play that, only talk about it. I've started playing on this server in 2011 and now I barely log in, but when I do, I see far less people than I did back in 2015. On the forums I notice far less player-driven RP, as most of initiative must have been gone now with those who tried to present their character stories openly. Honestly, this place has major problems and I just wonder if it dies this year or lingers a few years more.
Oh, there is one more option, of course. It can stay as it is indefinitely, not willing to get out of the comfort zone.

I do agree wholeheartedly with what I believe to be part of this issue: lack of player initiatives. Currently, I feel we have far too many players who want to jump on the back of another player's initiative (leechers) and we have far too few actual initiators. We need more players to actually "start sh*t", initiatives like new factions, faction vs faction conflict, things that the anyone on the server can participate in, and things that don't require the constant oversight of DMs (who are often unavailable for various reasons and can't watch us most of the time).

I have initiated. One big plot fell down when the 'other' guild I was involving stopped playing. Then my guild contact with that guild stopped playing. DMs were on board with the plot (after much nagging and refusals to ammend what i wanted to attempt) but I had to shelve it due to players quitting. It's easy enough to plan things, but execution becomes an impossibility when one relies on other players... well... playing?

There's lots of things I'd like to try now but it somestimes feels like you're swimming up a waterfall just to get things 'approved', let alone trusting that your fellow players arent just going to quit tomorrow when things drag on for months.

Which...is why I say trying to create Characters for a Storyline that maybe is presented by a DM or DMs (!!!) might be a better way to go about things.

You know...kinda like PnP Campaigns are arranged!!!!

This way, if a few Players drop out, no problem. And if a DM drops out...no problem, if there are more than one DM involved.

This could very well be a YEAR LONG STORYLINE! Maybe even...TWO YEARS! Which isn't such a crazy thing to think about, when you consider how many Players are still here after TEN YEARS! Geez...would you guys and gals get a life already!?!?

Some issues presented here could be very much RESOLVED with a greater effort in organization.

Though...corresponding timezones help too!
